Had never heard of Retford before. Turns out it has 2 stations. The one serving Sheffield has a 12.59 departing on time, arriving Sheffield 13.42.

but the problems seem to be ongoing getting north to Retford on the London to Hull line.

Got on the 11.47 from Kings Cross. It is due to Doncaster at 2.36. Going to change at Peterborough and get the Inverness train which gets the Peterborough at 1.51 then get Doncaster to Sheffield which gets to Sheffield at 2.22

1040 cancelled well they all are. Brought another ticket from Euston to Birmingham new street then onto Sheffield from there.  Proper pain in the arse. This has cost an absolute fortune. Prob will only get a partial refund as they were done on split save.   The things I do to follow this club 🤦‍♂️.

Ok. I have seen a 1.59 from Doncaster arriving Sheffield at 2.22 so presumably you're aiming for that. Good luck!

Highlight of the long delay at Peterborough earlier was a group of Leeds fans getting off the train and hired a car between them to get moving again. The train left about 10 mins later.

There is only one station in Retford (Nottinghamshire),…..it has four platforms split into two separate sections, two which serve local services and two which serve LNER & Hull Trains……it’s a busy station with plenty of fast trains to London KingsX. 

Even has a very busy Costa Coffee shop. 😂😂😂

Took a closer look by zooming in on google maps. Can now see it has a high level and a low level with tracks crossing each other. Similar to Crystal Palace of old which had two levels serving the exhibition centre, only the lower now remains.

Yeah, got to Sheffield at 10 to 2, got an email from LNER this morning saying they would refund fare. If it's over 2 hours late they have to pay compensation. Apparently it was late by 118 minutes...

I was on that same train late by 118 minutes and got a full refund.

My return train was 31 minutes late arriving into Kings Cross so got a half refund for that too!

They have to pay compensation if the delay is 30 mins or more.

Yeah got the full fare back but if it goes over 2 hours they have to give you more than that if they can't offer an alternative, I really should get out more!
