I agree.cantersaddick said:That first 35 mins I haven't seen us play like that since early on in the season. We were aggressive. The press was class and we won every second ball. One lapse in judgement where we pushed up and the broke through and had too much space and equalised. The pen was stupid and game over. 2nd half back to how we have been of late long ball and hope and it was never gon a work.
Last we see of Bell and Godders this season. TC also looked in a bad way.
First 30 mins best I've seen for months. Breaking at speed & interceptions by Doc setting up attacks.
But once we concede we fall apart. Been the same for the past 6 weeks. We score first & then can't get a second. Opposition equalise & we fall apart.

But they won't have if Ipswich win their next two games. They will be three points behind coming into the final game with a far inferior goal difference.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

extremely poor. We rely on other teams yet againSo what were the correct Substitutions...Am seeing this a lot already, but who do you replace TC with, to match his pace and energy at HT?The lack of energy has to be down to the individual coming on, rather than Jones... The fact that grown adults on here, find a way to excuse Footballers from understanding what they themselves need to do, when they become involved is just ludicrous... Do you think Jones needs to stand outside the loo as well going: "Right you see that white paper... you use that to wipe your arse" seeing they need such help to cope in life? Not sure if TC was injured, but don’t think he should have been taken off. Equally don’t think kelman for dykes was wise, but hardly a shock anymore.A sub bench of OAP Berry, a freshly fit Godden, a freshly fit knibbs , and then target man dykes has given us only one dimension from the bench.Would have loved to have had Fullah to bring on1 -
Not quite squeaky bum time yet, but we are certainly making this hard going (how very Charlton). A lot more spirit shown tonight and Doc was outstanding in the first half. But class (and lots of money) told in the end. Poor old Macca was turned inside out and gave away the penalty and our No1 number one gave a classic example of how to guess right, make the dive, and somehow allow the ball to pass clean under his body. When was the last time a Charlton keeper actually save a penalty?
Ipswich are shaky at the back yet we didn't lay a glove on them in the second half. Not one shot. Our strike weapon ie TC was already laid up in the treatment room. So from the bench came Sonny boy, But Carey's days of making a wonder strike from outside the box seem to be long past and I can't remember him actually touching the ball at all. Dykes and Knibbs ran around a bit, and Godden didn't because he was injured minutes after joining the fray.
So on to Hull at the weekend. We have a good track record at the Valley against Hull (we beat them 1-0 last game of the season when they went up from League one as Champions) so here's hoping. However, Bell now joins Ramsey on the injured list which is worrying although I suppose Clarke will return. Let's hope that Sheff Weds' form of late continues and Millwall are still pressing for the auto spot right to the end of the season.3 -
Not tonight Ronnie given you're the bloke who keeps saying if it wasn't for Kaminski we'd be in the bottom 3.RonnieMoore said:

Kaminski is crap. An arthritic, half blind 80 year old could have saved that penalty.2 -
Even if we do stay up, from where we were after the Boro game, this is a disgrace and Jones needs to go3

I know it takes a lot less to be called a legend these days but fuck me.banknote0 said:
Dont agree, but no need to call him a prick. He was the reason we’re in the division and that free kick means he’s always going to be a legend at the club.king addick said:Gillesphey brought us up and now he might have a hand in taking us back down.
Useless prick.
Seems like a lovely bloke and always tries but he’s just nowhere near good enough. He’s literally the reason we’re in this position. That series of games where we had him at LCB and Campbell LWB really cost us, plus that performance tonight. Just tragic that he’s been asked to play.3 -

If we don’t get the job done on Saturday then I honestly think we will go down. We will have single digit possession at Swansea, and you just know Oxford will beat Millwall. The fact that there’s any doubt around that makes me laugh - it would be the most Charlton thing ever1

That nailed on point at Pompey that we managed to fuck up is looking more and more costly!!20

It's unfortunate this game came where it did really. We've gone up against the 2nd placed team in the league who were Premier League last season, have a squad worth tens of millions and lost because of a penalty. If this had been earlier in the season I think there'd be less rage on here but as we're so close to the end and still in relegation danger there's some real vitriol that doesn't match the game. We started well and took the lead, lost one of our best players to injury, lost the only other player who offers us width and opens the pitch up to injury after that and just don't have the squad to replace them. Then we got yet another injury to a sub and couple that with some fairly criminal reffing and we can feel fairly hard done by. Annoying but now the focus is on getting something off Hull13

Pompey
Leicester
Millwall

That league table after Boro is the most damning image of the night for me.
How the hell have we ended up here after that?
It not about negativity or positivity.
Universally I think we will all agree that is shocking.15 -

They'll still want to finish third though even if 2nd is out of reach
They'll have a much better chance if they play Hollywood or Hull instead of Southampton or Boro (well, they'd probably beat Boro but will want to avoid Southampton)3 -
Yes, limited him to one shot which went out by the corner flag and 0 chances created. All while defending in a back 3 with Coventry and Macca because Jones was up frontCroydon said:

I like him , yes he's incredibly raw and is going to need time to get used to this league fitness and physically having come over straight from the Serbian season but there's some real positives there to work on with him.fenaddick said:
