I honestly never thought we would get there in the weeks after the Boro game. Sod’s Law that when we did do it I was ill all day.
Managed to catch up with the highlights - absolutely belting goal from Kelman, and I really do think there is a proper player there. Put him in the Southampton side and there’s 15-20 goals at this level.

Fevrier has got all the hallmarks of a great loanee …. Effort above and beyond what you would expect and improved over time.  I would keep him as a good alternative to Edwards and whoever our RWB is next season.

plenty of time to unpack what’s happened since Boro but leaving Wembley last May, I remember thinking we were a million miles away from staying up.

    It’s a brilliant achievement.
Spot on. Indeed, it truly is. COYA!!!!!!!!

Missed the point entirely. Don't sit back for 0-0 or binary. Don't bore your customers. Carpe Diem. Ain't Communist, it's about pulling together for a collective objestive. Here is the Trump/Reform comparison :
Both of these famous photos were "fake", "re-enacted", or "staged" days or weeks after the actual events.

Perhaps we could re-enact and film Kelman's and Fevrier's splendid goals with enhancements during the close season? Kelman could shoot from ten yards further out, and Fevrier could beat an additional two defenders first.

I remember Collective Objestives. They were the Co-op's own brand of digestive biscuits.

    Mix of joy and relief.
Enjoyed The Valley in the sun
And the football was decent again
    Great atmosphere

Trained it down from Norwich with my 4.5 year old... he's too young really... but... wanted him to experience the whole package of Charlton at this age before we head off to sunnier shores later this year...
I have hope the buzz in there today, and at the end, will stay with him

Did anyone recognise the Hull member of staff who made a point of clapping the covered end at the end of the game, I didn't recognise him but it was a classy thing to do.
I’m going to assume it was Dean Holden
It didn't look like him Fen, younger with dark hair

The Hull manager was suspended,  so Holden was in charge in the dugout today. Quite nice timing for him, and while he would have wanted the win, I'm sure he's delighted we stayed up.

    PWR.

Delighted we’ve done it and what a goal from Kelman. This match, even ignoring the goal, is the best I’ve seen from him.

Well done you Reds on survival!!!!!!!
  • So the R is a negative number, I assume

I bet TC was spitting blood when Fev didn't release him for a clear third in the last minute...🤦‍♂️
I think he may have strayed off side earlier in the move, but I don't really know the off side law so forget I said that.
Fev was knackered, I don’t know how he managed to run that far.  I think any pass would have been cut out by the defender, just like the shot.

Fevrier man of the match in the lounge
Not to disparage Fev, but how anyone can vote other than Docherty is beyond me. He’s been the best player by far over the last few games.

I have no idea how autocorrect got from Fev to Ant. Typing this message it didn’t do anything. Prime example of why you should never trust AI.

We stayed up and somehow managed not to win the must-win games, @Braziliance.

Just watched the highlights and for me that was absolutely pathetic from Kaminski for their goal. Yes there was a slight tug on his shirt but not enough for him to flap as he did and go to ground like that. I’m not even sure that would have been overturned by VAR.

We got done, but our home form over the last two months has been shocking and is a real concern for next season.

Nine home wins is just about OK, but TEN home defeats is not good enough, we should have not lost more than seven home games, all up.

Or away form was OK, four wins is not great, but we only lost eight games away from The Valley.

Bottom line is that we need to get a lot better on the ball, especially at home, we can't keep allowing our opponents to have 70% possession and relying on us keeping clean sheets, that's not sustainable.

Our front players have got a lot of stick this season, but I think much of that has been misplaced.

Our front players are often heavily isolated, outnumbered by defenders, and our preference to keep men behind the ball means that we just don't get the numbers forward in the final third to create chances.

I am sure Nathan Jones knows all of this far better than any of us, but any transition will be fraught as there will always be a temptation to go back to what has worked to keep us up this season.

Beautiful behind the scenes footage from the Battleship as it sails back along the Thames, off on another journey

Surely the heads should be the other way around?
