Think we will nick this 2-1 and finish higher than we all thought we would after all. Box midfield again having worked well last weekend.

Want to see a performance definitely. Still find it hard to forgive curbishley for that limp end of season run in after winning the championship with a lame 1-1 at Blackburn then a roll over to help west Brom stay up last game. Less at stake here obviously but as professionals they as a collective should still give of their best and be capable of giving Swansea a game.
And I can't forgive Parkinson for, amongst other things, playing out tame 1-1 draws in consecutive away games at Swansea and Reading when we needed wins. Never forgotten. So, put out a strong team and win.

There I was looking forward to a nail biting nerve jangling end of the season game and now we are somewhat facing a meaningless match.
It’s all about them, self self self. All those fans going tomorrow I hope you have a great day, you deserve it. 0-0.

Would like to see Leaburn and Kelman up top together, still think that could be a decent partnership if given time.
As long as we don't resort to hoofball. Leaburn isn't  that good playing the big lump upfront.

Looking forward to the finale of this season.
Dead rubber, but be nice to see both teams play attractive attacking football.
Think we can nick it. My old dozy bounce saying 2-2, but my ticker fancies 0-2.
Wonder if they are still trying to get the moon out of the pond with a net in Swansea.

We need to go into this In the mind state we still need a point or all 3 to stay up as it's the Nathan Jones way and I wouldn't be surprised if he's got them out in the blazing sunshine today for a rigorous training session : ))

    Swansea City vs Charlton Athletic
    Saturday 2nd May 2026: 12:30pm Kick-Off
    Referee: Will Finnie

    Introduction
45-games played, 53-points achieved and the biggest reward; Championship Football secured for the new season, it all comes down to this one last game though, one final game before everyone can go off on their Holidays ahead of another frantic summer of Transfer activity and the next big question... Will we ever escape the 2024/25 season?

    The Opposition
Name: Swansea City (11th) - Manager: Vítor Matos
    Ground: Liberty Stadium
Previous League Result: QPR 1-2 Swansea

Charlton's last game of this campaign sees us taking the trip into South Wales with Swansea City awaiting our arrival. After a sluggish start to the campaign, there would have been concerns from the home faithful about the future of Swansea's time in the Championship. Just six wins were achieved in the first half of the campaign and after a run of five defeats the Swansea owners were forced to act with Manager: Alan Sheehan replaced by the Portuguese unknown: Vitor Matos

Performances slowly improved and Swansea moved away from the slight concern of being involved in a relegation battle, but consistency has remained the issue meaning they've never really gone on to replicate the likes of Southampton and Norwich this campaign - The Swans do head into the final day with a chance of finishing as 12th place Champions, however to do so they need to drop points, and hope that Preston record a win against visiting Southampton.

Its not going to be easy for the Addicks, not when Swansea have the Championship's top scorer for this season with Slovenian: Zan Vipotnik finding the net on 23-occasions this term, an improvement on his seven goals scored last season, his first in England, since moving over from Bordeaux. In terms of head to head and Charlton have 16-wins compared to the 17-wins for Swansea, our last win in this fixture was way back in 1965, a 1-3 win at the old Vetch Field - Our opponents were called Swansea Town in those days, so we'll go looking for our first win at the Liberty Stadium, and we'll go looking for our first win at Swansea City.

    Charlton Team News
If there was one Charlton Manager who wants to achieve that more than any other, then its probably the diehard Cardiff City fan that is Nathan Jones

He's already mentioned that he's looking forward to this weekend, and we can probably expect celebrations on a Guy Luzon level if we do manage to record all three points this coming weekend. As a result we maybe wont see too many changes compared to last week; Amari'i Bell and Matty Godden will of course be a step closer to fitness, but at least we should hopefully see this Charlton team playing with more freedom now that the pressure of survival is now off our shoulders.

Elsewhere and you'd hope we may see spots for Ibby Fullah and Keenan Gough in the match day squad. The latter has perhaps been the most surprising breakthrough this campaign, and you wouldn't begrudge him earning a start in the heart of defence, especially if the fitness of Collins Sichenje remains questionable.

    Kaminski
    Gough - Jones - Gillesphey
    Clarke - Coventry - Docherty - Fevrier
    Knibbs - Carey
    Kelman

    Substitutes: Mannion - Burke - Chambers - Costello - Fullah - Coady - Leaburn - Campbell - Dykes

No way docherty will be fit to play.He could hardly walk at the end of hull game

It could also be the last time in Addicks red for Fevrier, Coady, Dykes, Chambers, and Clarke - well done and thank you to all of them for what they have brought to the club and the impact (at whatever level) they have made.

    COYA!
Very well said. I don’t think we stay up without their combined contributions.

First Friday in ages I haven't had that horrible sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. First Saturday in yonks I'll wake up with a big smile on my face looking forward to a Charlton game rather than anxiety ruining my morning.

Excited for this one. 0-1 Addicks win. Luke Berry with the goal.

Considering we are now safe and this game doesn’t matter, throw Tiernan Brooks in goal. Low stress situation and I’m curious to see what he’s got

How about winning 2-1 after being 1-0 down?
You’re looking to give Golfie a heart attack?

Isn’t it great that we as fans can go into this game without any anxiety and that the result really doesn’t matter.

Yes, it will be nice to win/draw but I for one, won’t be spending the match behind the couch like I usually do, too frightened to pop my head out to check the progress.

NJ deserves a huge amount of praise for the job he’s done and now he’s steered us to safety most of us are back on the love boat with him;)

It often seems the second season is harder and no doubt we’ll have a keen eye on the incomings and outgoings.

Thanks to @ForeverAddickted for your dedication to the cause and the ship blasting a broadside to the opposition.

Including play off matches, tomorrow is the first league match in the last 95 where ultimately there is nothing dependent on the result. I shall relax and enjoy...

I think we could see a few changes with a some players getting a well deserved rest.

Lloyd Jones is certainly one of those. He looks like he’s been playing through injury for months. I don’t expect TC and Doc to feature either.

Would love to see Ibby Fullah and Gough get a run out.
Agree Lloyd deserves a rest, but I believe he has figured in every game so far and would probably want to keep that record(I might be wrong)

Nice not to have to stress about this one but even so I'd love us to win it. Finishing 17-19th feels a much fairer reflection of the season than 20th or even 21st. Would also like to finish on a positive note and for NJ to get the win over Swansea.

Hoping we put out a competitive side therefore but ideally with a bit more freedom and attacking threat. I think with the pressure off we might see a better performance than we've had in a few of the recent games.

And as others have said, thanks for all the great previews FA, can't even imagine the amount of work it must take!

Be nice to sign off with a win. No pressure or anxiety which seems strange after a long hard season. The last few weeks have been stressful and a bit waring but tomorrow we can relax and enjoy a win! UTA

Please give Lloyd Jones a rest.  This is Charlton.  You know if we play him he is tearing an Achilles.
