Probably a good thing even at this early stage that Blackburn get a kick in the guts last min
  • Wolves so poor at the back, almost did a Charlton at Fratton Park.

I remember this referee being shocking last season too. That’s surely outside the area
His feet were outside but his hand was outstretched and towards the goal, think it was on the line personally.
  • Enough to show that Blackburn may not struggle as much as people thought though

He got 2 of the highest marks on this forum and one of the lowest in the last couple of seasons. One was the Wycombe away play off game (low). He had always looked one of the better ones to me and was the one who refused to give Man C a penalty when VAR asked him to have another look.

Why was Jimenez allowed to stop twice in his run up?

First game in and already it feels like anyone can beat anyone in this crazy league. Still time to go but Blackburn have been decent

Shows the bookies can’t really have a clue what’s gonna happen.
First game of the season, and I’ve blown my acca already. Cheers wolves

Thats a pen - his hand is inside the box.

Thought he was pretty decent last season.

So Wolves to plummet like Leicester or bottom of the table first half of the season only to then go on a mega run into the playoffs?

Drives me mad how they talk incidents up as if they’re controversial.
The line is part of the penalty box. I can’t see how anyone can look at that and think the whole of the ball was outside the box. It’s ridiculous. The ‘impartial’ pundits are trying to make it a controversy when it just shouldn’t be. Suggesting the ref has ‘guessed’ is stupid and pretty disrespectful to him.
(Obviously Mowbray is going to say he thought it was outside because he would do wouldn’t he?)

What was his hand doing out there? Definitely jumped from outside the box, but momentum probably carried him in  by the time it hit his arm.

If we had VAR I don't think there's enough there to overturn it, but at the same time if it hadn't been given I don't know that there's enough there to say it was a penalty either. there wasn't a clear an obvious angle either way.

In terms of the two teams. Blackburn looked like they had a bit of fight about them, but Wolves certainly gave them a helping hand. Awful defending, and they looked like a team that struggled to score last year. Need a big improvement if they plan on going up.

    Hand looked inside to me.

Happy Blackburn didn’t win as hoping they might be down there this season although they looked annoyingly decent tonight

Think they have twice had back to back relegations before

That Bolton squad just looks like relegation fodder. Erhanon will probably make the jump but there's not a lot else in that squad that would concern me.

Preston have looked very poor in the opening 15 minutes

Also, is that Nicky Weaver on the Bolton coaching staff?
