    Has anyone seen uncut gems?
If you are not a fan of Adam Sandler, he gives a remarkable performance that makes you feel so anxious and uneasy watching it but you cannot stop watching.
Totally changed my opinion of him as an actor.

Woke up this morning thinking about this movie..

The warriors. Great film and video game, which instead of spending so much time on GTA rockstar should of been doing a remake.

Yeah that was a good film. I think that and a couple of his other more serious films he shows he has acting ability. Punch drunk love and reign over me being two where he showed that. And I guess also funny people.

    American Graffiti

A simple but brilliant concept of a story that can be enjoyed simply for what it is, or the music, or the cars or a multitude of other film scenes or facets for what it influenced, or the future  careers of the young actors that were in it that you start recognising one after the other.Set in 1962. It was made in 1973 and we all trotted down to the Woolwich ABC to see it.

    Southern Comfort (1981)

Only seen this twice. A film similar to Deliverance. Not very successful at the Box Office but worth a watch.
    Great film . So underrated
Complete aside, but part of the score features a cajun song by the Balfa brothers near the end of the film.
Did Hollywood Beyond completely plagiarised it for their small hit The Colour of Money in the eighties?
Good interview with Mark Roger’s (Hollywood Beyond) here. Interesting bloke & career.  I think plagiarised is harsh, more a sampling of a track that he really liked and wanted to build on in a different way. As long as it’s acknowledged and the original writers/composers benefit, then it’s the way in which so much music has always been made and adapted.

Thanks for mentioning this. Saw it at the cinema c2006 when it came out. Was my favourite film for many years but faded from memory. I see it's based on a Harlan Coben book, who has since became an author I have enjoyed so I will try to get the book, then maybe hope to watch the film again one day.

I guess it depends a lot on who I'm recommending them to. If I think they've got similar tastes to me I'd say:
    • Bad Taste
    • Dead Sushi
    • Parents
    • Eraserhead
    • Sightseers
    • Angel Heart
    • The Machinist
    • Amélie
    • Memoir of a Snail
    • Goodbye Lenin
    • The 100 Year Old Man Who...
    • The Three Faces of Eve
If it's for anyone I'd say:
    • Planes, Trains & Automobiles
    • The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
    • The Day of The Jackal
    • Shawshank
    • Silence of the Lambs

Far too many to mention but if you haven’t seen The Act of Killing then you’re missing out on the most unique and astonishing documentary I’ve ever seen (it was a ludicrous travesty that it didn’t win an Oscar). Jaw was on the floor by the end of the film. It might be hard for some to stomach but if you can handle it, I can assure you, that you’ve never seen anything like it and you never will see anything like it again. I wouldn’t even read the plot before watching. Just go into it blind and you’ll end up thinking WTF did I just watch?
The worst recommendation since "grave of the fireflies". Easily a top 5 documentary but also I wish I'd never been born

What the fuck you looking at?

    YOU, YOU C***

You can almost feel the rage. Incredible film - with an absolute tour de force of a performance from Paddy Considine

Great film, brilliant director, one of my absolute favourites but my pick of his is Time of the Gypsies which I found mesmeric.
