Unless they want to sell him, hope he shines against weaker opposition instead of taking a chance he doesn’t look as special against stronger opponents ?killerandflash said:
Strange. You'd have thought their best player, certainly their biggest financial asset, would be playing against the much stronger opposition. Most of the rest of their team tonight was academy players.fenaddick said:Charlton Life fan favourite Charlie Savage unlikely to feature tomorrow as he’s playing in Reading’s other game against Crawley

Appreciate all players need fitness and game but I hope Knibbs gets another 60 today to see whether he performs as well as vs Colchester against a better quality opposition. If so, expect him to be a totally different prospect for us this season. 🤞🏻🤞🏻5

Hopefully they put out a strong side. Need a good test1
-
Hope Chalobah plays so we can see him against better opposition and hopefully a more intense game. Feels early to rate him so highly after one friendly vs a L2 side.8

I understand it is free on Charlton tv, is there a pre-match preview by Brownie and Curbs etc.
Be good to hear there views on the new players and the season ahead.
Probably can only watch the first half as I am due to watch Bexley vets with both my lads playing in a friendly.catch up with some of the guys who I used to manage and a few we played against. Hopefully the team will consolidate on there cup final, and have some good matches this year. I think most of the players were rather surprised at the standards last season, a few had had a couple of years out, and thought they would be playing against 'beer bellied' players, they had quite a shock!.0 -
Guessing today’s line up will be those who finished the last game/ didn’t play too many minutes + Chalobah
Kaminski
Ramsay (maybe Asiimwe) Jones Koumetio Bell
Chalobah Doc (45 mins)
Fullah Carey TC
Leaburn
Would like to see Alli off the bench hopefully instead of Tanto. Ideally Asiimwe isn’t in the squad and is preparing for a move. NJ also said we might see Sichenje which would be good0 -
Would like to see McNamara & Alli start, just to get more of a look at them before season starts1
-
No way they’ll be ready for anything more than 30 minsYannTheMann said:Would like to see McNamara & Alli start, just to get more of a look at them before season starts1 -

Surely he doesn’t need minutes. He gave the rest of the squad a head start on fitness last season, basically said hold my beer when he came on as a substitute against Watford in the first game and scored the winner in time added on. How fit do you need to be for that 😁Appreciate all players need fitness and game but I hope Knibbs gets another 60 today to see whether he performs as well as vs Colchester against a better quality opposition. TC and Grant means TC at RW you'd think. Chalobah still with the club5

Going to be my first Pre-Season game of the season. - I presume from reading (no pun intended) between the lines on this thread so far, that this season I can expect a Charlton side that'll make Barcelona look like Wimbledon from the Crazy Gang years?0
-
No Carey?0
-
Looks more like a first choice 11 at the moment, though if Bell is LB I'd prefer Mesik.2
-
Carey must be off8
-
Think that’s pretty close to our best team at the moment1

Going the long way because they don't want to pay the blackwall toll.5

Presume they have struggled on the m25 round sevenoaks as looking bad there.O-Randy-Hunt said:Going the long way because they don't want to pay the blackwall toll.
Should have got the train methinks. Behind closed doors so no crowd to worry about, just trains.1 -
Traffic is chaos0

Left out for disciplinary reasons. Threw his toys out of the pram when Reading would not let him join Charlton, his dream club.killerandflash said:

Weighing up whether to watch the game or not. Not into matches without fans - like the Covid times where you can hear the players & managers shouting.
Also wanted to run my eye over the new players/ youngsters.....but no starting places for Mesik, Challobah, Alli or Mwamba is making me think twice.
Will probably decide at 2.10pm.1
