Reckon Savinho is the target for the left wing?JohnBoyUK said:
I think that really depends on our end to the transfer window.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
It's still early and clubs will make a lot more signings, but i have a feeling that Chelsea without any European football will do quite well this season. Same for Spurs.
Very happy with what we've done in Defence and Midfield but its painfully obvious to me (and De Zerbi most importantly from his comments) that we need to add more at the other end.
We've been crying out for a left winger for 2-3 seasons now. If Kudus is fit and Kulusevski returns from the dead, we'll be ok on the right but the left we massively lack quality. As it stands, its Tel with Moore pushing to start. Moore is extremely talented but can he do it in the PL on a regular basis?
From what I know, we're not relying on outgoings to fund the rebuild but it does make me think we want to get Romero, Vicario and then possibly Bergvall and Spence if rumours are to be believed. Even Bentancur could be surplus to requirements too.
Richarlison has 12m left on his contract. I can't see the club offering him an extension. So I can see him going either this window or next. That leaves Solanke who doesn't convince me at all.
Window shuts 1st Sept so its a long way off yet but does make you wonder.1 -
Looks that way. He's good mates with Xavi Simons apparently, they were at PSV together and have been pictures together recently.North Lower Neil said:Reckon Savinho is the target for the left wing?
But that isn't the 'Bomba' RDZ was referring to if you see some of the comments of the Spurs journalists who was questioning him today. We sit and wait.0 -
Palace swapping a player that they signed for £35m in Jan (Brennan Johnson) for a player that they agreed to sign for £20m in January then didn't (Dwight McNeil) doesnt strike me as brilliant business.
Not least as Dwight McNeil is shite.3 -
worth it to get rid of 0 goals in 26 appearances Brennan JohnsonNorth Lower Neil said:Palace swapping a player that they signed for £35m in Jan (Brennan Johnson) for a player that they agreed to sign for £20m in January then didn't (Dwight McNeil) doesnt strike me as brilliant business.

McNeil has 14 goals in his last 5 league seasons, i think i'd rather keep Johnson.MrOneLung said:

City potentially spending £300m on midfielders with the 115 charges still hanging over them.0

Be prepared for lots of ' we apologise if you heard any inappropriate language'.0

Maybe they've been told internally that they're going to get their long awaited punishment this season and that's driving them awayfenaddick said:

Coventry are getting battered. I fear for them tonight.0

I know it's the first game of the season but this looks like an FA Cup Premier League v League Two game.1

Have Coventry signed anyone of note?
Smells of a club taking the money for a season and paying off some debts instead of going for it1 -

Basically unless you're West Ham or Wolves, any team going up is basically going up to get battered next season.... get relegated, then:
a) Bounce straight back in a much better place and spending more money (eg Ipswich)
OR
b) Fail to bounce back and start a slow decline (eg Sheff Utd)3 -
£122m spent according to transfermarkt.sam3110 said:Have Coventry signed anyone of note?

This new lad up front for Arsenal looks lively. Had about four chances, a quantum of Tzolis.2
-
The problem for a newly promoted side, is that you can sign lots of £10m to £20m players, but the real PL quality won't join you.
A bit like us last summer where we struggled to bring in established Championship players, other than relegated Luton ones.1 -
Yep, Arsenal are a completely different animal.SELR_addicks said:I know it's the first game of the season but this looks like an FA Cup Premier League v League Two game.
Done some great business in the window, looking nailed on to go back to back already. Absolutely no arguments from me, sadly.0 -
Half time player interviews. Get in the bin.3
-
I do think Coventry have been poor however.I understand they've probably gone into the game thinking it's a free hit, but it seems they had no plan once the ball goes out wide.0

as if they know a 115 reasons why they might want to move on you mean?fenaddick said:

From a Spurs pov, get them two signings over the line and its been the best transfer window I cam ever remember. Might take a bit of time for them all to gel but its one hell of a bloody good squad now. I still think we're a proper CF away from being able to challenge beyond top 4. Richarlison / Solanke are now definitely the weak link.
Anyway back to watching the Champions vs the new boys0
