Forest have now rejected a 120m bid from City for Anderson. At what point do they either walk away, or the player gets pissed off and puts in a transfer request?

I know Marinakis is a nutjob but 120m is ridiculous.

Rinse those cheating scumbags for all they can get.

This is nuts. Nuts that they have turned it down, and nuts that City have even offered it in the first place.

Meanwhile the Glazers have refinanced their existing $425m loan...............by taking out a new $550m one.

So just like that, United's debt has increased by another $125m.

Xabi Alonso is going to need a new left back. Marc Cucurella being sold to Real Madrid for €60m. Seems stupid from Chelsea, he's got more consistent recently and has been one of their better players

    Confirmed £47.5m rising to £51.8m.

As Chelsea paid Brighton £63m for him 4 years ago, they actually made a loss on him.

Not really a loss paying 3m a year for him

That’s over £55,000 a week. When you add whatever his wages were, I’d say they’ve made a pretty big loss.
I guess when you weigh that against all the trophies they’ve won in that time though…. Oh, wait, they’ve only won the conference league a couple of years ago and that plastic thing in America last year. They are very proud of that though. 🙄

How much would they have to lose on the sale for you to consider it ‘really a loss’?

  • They need to sell players apparently

Surprised that Palace still haven't announced / found a new Manager after Glasner announced his own departure.
Maybe Iraola going to Liverpool has scuppered things for them
But having a neutral view point, they surely need to get a move on and find someone?
Sounds like they’ve basically done everything but announce Pierre Sage as their new manager
My french mate Dids (he's actually a Fulham ST holder) is so pissed off right now.  Lens is his childhood French team and Sage is likely off, and Marco Silva's gone walkies too.

He really appreciated my message when I sent him this tweet.

Anyway, he really rates Sage and has been banging on about him for what seems like forever.
Well, I agree with him. I hate to say it but I think this will prove a great appointment for them, and they’ll be pushing for top six next season.

Apart from De Boer, (sadly)they have always appointed managers that have been a very good fit for them :'(

Interesting to see Daniel Levy was messaging Simon Jordan during his Talksport show to say Spurs have had their pants pulled down over paying £52m for Van Hecke.

He still doesn't see it, does he?

Yeah, we've probably overpaid a little bit and by waiting for August we could have probably got £10-15m knocked off but what price do you put on getting the manager who he wants in time for pre-season?

I've banged on about it for years.  Levy used to spend so much time dicking around to save a few quid by waiting until the last knockings of the transfer window or by always going for the poundshop equivalent of the player that the manager actually asked for.

Still early days but 3 very good signings by Spurs with Robertson, Senesi and Van Hecke coming in.
Ideally want to see a proper left winger come in now with another proper centre forward.

Didn't Vieira have a spell there?  Or did I imagine that?

Chelsea are absolutely screwed financially. Already been sanctioned once by UEFA and if they fail again they will be banned from Europe for a year (when they next qualify).

In terms of his book value they made a profit (which is what counts for FFP).

He cost just over 60m and was 4 years into a 6 year contract, so roughly 10m a year on their books. Therefore as 40m of value had gone, there is technically 20m 'profit' left by selling him now.

Depending on who you listen to they need to make around 150m of profit on their books to avoid new sanctions.

True, though an effect of the ridiculously long contracts they've given out is that the values of the likes of Caicedo and Fernandez won't have dropped much from their original fees. And neither I imagine have risen in value either.
