Awful from Argentina, their tactics, the constant fouling, the post-game fighting. Totally embarrassed themselves. Not even sure what their game plan was, although it looked like they basically turned up to play for penalties.
Personally i don't think we'd have beaten that Spain team, they're a level above, but it'll be interesting to see how we do in the Nations league.
Rodri at 30 and coming off an ACL is still unbelievable. If Real Madrid don't sign him this summer then City's midfield pivot of him and Anderson is going to be very hard for PL teams to break down next season.10 -

What's the chances Enzo doesn't play another game over here and cries off to Real Madrid because he can't handle the chants he's deservedly going to get.
Also Messi might be a great player but he did nothing about the racist songs about France a couple of years back and nothing about spending this entire tournament being the most dislikeable team at the tournament.2 -

I think we would have done Argentina a favour if we beat them in the semi as they just got an opportunity to show the World how classless they are. I think most respectable nations, including us, would not put up with their antics. Yes they have some great players but you have to have standards. FIFA must take some of the blame as it appointed refs who let them get away with it. The constant fouling didn't work against England or Spain but it should have been stamped on. As should the disgusting behaviour of Paraguay. FIFA has to accept it is a problem and all it has to do is apply it's rules fairly and laws appropriately and it will fix it. But for some reason it doesn't.
I think Messi is usually an exception but his antics trying to get a Spain player sent of was horrible to watch. I mean I expect it of others but not him.3 -
The good thing about last night is that showed people that England supporters weren't whining about Argentina's tactics because we lost. They showed themselves up to be anti-football scumbags on the biggest stage there is. Just gutted we didn't get more close ups of their players crying at the end!7

Obviously there’s a bit of animosity to them from us after the semi defeat and our history, but taking our rivalry aside, surely they’ve got to be up there as the most hated nation in world football? Messi aside they have no players that are good to watch (Fernandez is a good player but a rat). That team last night even with Messi in looked awful and hopefully they’re in for a prolonged period of doing nothing

Wanting Cucurella to do well last night was a 1st for me.
The hairy one had a great tournament and the left wing back role continues to evolve as he goes inside and does many runs into central positions as well as out wide.
38 matches unbeaten and only conceding 1 goal was no fluke and the 0-0 draw against Cape Verde in their 1st match made many of us discount Spain from lifting the trophy.
Despite not being as clinical as England and many others top sides their control of the football and their game plan were superior to all the other sides and they were deserved winners without having too many super stars other than Rodri who was back to his imperious self and Lamine Yamal who has shown enough for Barcelona to show he is heir apparent to being top trumps one day in international football.
Cubarsi, Pedri and Olmo has star dust and if they ever find a top finisher again they will be hard to beat in the Euros which they already are !

Argentina were a disgrace last night - no attempt to play football. Complete lack of ambition.
Certainly wasn't the 'beautiful game' last night.

Now Messi is expected to retire, they're surely in for a period of rebuilding and I wouldn't be surprised if some of their players who are the wrong side of 30 realise this and decide to retire. Martinez, Otamendi, Paredes, De Paul and Tagliafico are all 32+.2 -
