A worse group of dirty c***s there has never been. Glad they lost.

FIFA need to grow a spine and hand out some serious sanctions

I thought Argentina were a disgrace. Cheating, cynical didn’t want to play. There was only one team that wanted to play football And that was Spain. Horrible match to watch.

What's the chances Enzo doesn't play another game over here and cries off to Real Madrid because he can't handle the chants he's deservedly going to get.

Also Messi might be a great player but he did nothing about the racist songs about France a couple of years back and nothing about spending this entire tournament being the most dislikeable team at the tournament.
And he's [Messi] a convicted fraudster who's jail sentence wasn't served on a technicality.

You have a wonderful way with words!

I’m surprised Trump didn’t walk off with the cup, knowing how much of a magpie he is for all that glitters!
I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that he has had one of these installed in the WH!

Celebrated that Spain goal like it was an England one... Glad they got done, scummy pricks.

I suppose the sad part is that they can play. After Spain scored, even with 10 men they really put the pressure on and where unlucky not to score.
I dont know what happens in their head when they walk onto that pitch. When we played Chelsea in the cup tie,Enzo  spent time with ball kids, having a joke with them,I thought what a really nice guy.I dont think any of the Argentines who play here have been particularly out of order, but then they all get together for a world cup and everything changes,it is just mayhem, and so not needed.Until FIFA start showing some bollocks they will continue to act like it and drag the game down.

I didn't think Spain were that good. They didn't create much and didn't have much threat. They kept the ball well but you expect that much from them.

I don't feel like any team was particularly outstanding at this tournament. Sadly that's another big opportunity missed for us.

If we'd been in that final, which we should have been, we'd have done a lot better than Argentina's zero efforts on goal in 120 minutes.

Spain beat Portugal, Belgium, France and Argentina they played some great team football I think they were a cut above everyone. We will find out in September when we play them in the nations league.

    Did we watch different games?

They had 20 shots, had Nico Williams' goal harshly ruled out for a foul, had another ruled out for a marginal offside and Martinez made at least 3-4 good saves.

They dominated almost every game they played and beat the teams ranked (as of today) 2, 3, 7 & 8 on the way to winning it.

And they did it all whilst continuing the tradition of the eventual winner not actually winning every game in the tournament, by playing out a 0-0 with Cabo Verde

Spain created loads of chances, they didn’t finish them.

Also disagree on there not being an outstanding team, Spain are exactly that.

You’d hope FIFA dish out some bans to Parades and co. for the post-match violence.
That would be a good way of showing they are not biased. Paredes should get a long ban for bringing the game into disrepute. But I suspect he will get nothing. They have created a real issue here and you have to lump in the unchallenged behaviour of Paraguay into that mix.

Maybe I didn't phrase that correctly. I don't mean they didn't deserve to win and they're not a good team. Undoubtedly they were the best team at the tournament, that's why they've won it. But they're they're not a great team. They're not even comparable to the 2010 Spain team, or France 98, Brazil 2002, Germany 2014, etc. You didn't need to be a great, generational side to win this world cup, which is why it's another missed opportunity for us.

Zero shots in nearly 120 minutes

Let's all paint it up in history, categorically the worst team to ever play in a world cup final

Can't believe we lost to these absolute chancers, cheats and slimy little wankers
Thinking back to that 2010 final in South Africa, the Dutch were almost as bad, certainly during the game....I say almost as the behavior after the game by the Argies was an absolute disgrace.

France, until they played Spain, were the outstanding team.

I wanted Spain to win and they deserved to win. I do find it hard to understand how France didn't beat them though. They are not the best of Spain teams.

I thought Spain were pretty excellent. The way they knock the ball about 1 and 2 touch just so effortlessly , incredible talent albeit they lacked cutting edge

Williams is very hit and miss but what made last night even harder to watch is how clearly Argentina suffered from being attacked down the wings. Only man in the world who failed to spot that frailty , our “world class” manager

We all seem to agree that the Argentinian football team is a disgrace and they will probably continue to be so.
I wonder if Romero will have the front to return to Tottenham ? .. he will make the club very unpopular everywhere outside N15, be a shame after all the money they have spent so far this summer  :)

I would bet everything i own that Romero is sold this summer. Not because of the world cup though, but because there are reports that he wants out and they've already signed Senesi and van Hecke.

Easy to say in hindsight, but France played two in midfield - Tchouameni who didn't look fully fit, and Rabiot who I'd say is a decent player but not world class - against Spain's three.  It let Spain dominate in their strongest position.

Plus France's front 4 are very much 4 attacking players, so not much defensive help to the 2 sitting midfielders.

Just seen footage on Twatter of Argie coach Ayala punching Olmo.

Surely a lot of these people are going to get lengthy bans.

Yeah i've seen that, Olmo wasn't even doing anything other than trying to pull Eric Garcia away from another confrontation.

    Ayala is 53.

Did Paredes ever touch the ball? He just seemed to be slamming into anyone in a red shirt.
