Starting Line-Up for Cheltenham

It’s highly unlikely now that any new signings will be ready to start next week’s match.

What would your starting line-up be if you were selecting the team?

I’d Go:

Kaminski
Ramsay
Koumetio
Jones
Mesik
Mwamba
Doc
Knibbs
TC
Grant
Leaburn

We’d get killed in wide areas with that.  Has CS ever played in midfield ? May as well play him in a back 3

I don’t know mate but I honestly think he could play there he has a decent touch and looks to bring the ball out, plays forward and is defensive enough to also protect the back 4. But I accept I know sweet F all lol but the question was what we would like to see lol

    I'd go for :

    Mannion
    Sichenje Jones Koumetio
    Mwamba Knibbs Mesic Chalaba
    Alli Grant Godden

Alli to cross from the right, Mesic to cross from the left and Grant and Godden to slot them in!

    Cheltenham 0 Charlton 4

Jones is treating the Cheltenham match as another preseason game so I would expect him to try out the 4231 in a more competitive setting

Definitely. And if our midfield of Coventry, Doc, Knibbs cannot overcome Cheltenham then the alarm bells will be ringing off the hook.

Anything trained by Willie Mullins usually has a good chance.

Really? For me the one sure thing that has come out of pre season is that Knibbs starts over Carey. His link up play with Grant has been good and defensively he has been good at pressing. Carey has looked meh so far

    Kaminski
    Ramsay Jones Koumetio Mesík
    Doc Mwamba
    TC Knibbs Grant
    Godden

McNamara & Sichenje have played nowhere near enough minutes to start. Baffled they’re being suggested

If we are treating it as a more competitive pre-season game I don’t see why a new signing wouldn’t be able to start if they sign early this week. As long as they’d been doing pre-season properly at the club we sign them from then I’d say we probably should start them

    Kaminski

    McNamara - Jones - Koumetio - Mesik

    Coventry - Mwamba

    Apter - Knibbs - Alli

              Leaburn

With Grant, Godden & Carey to come on at 45/60 mins, maybe Collins & TC in that group of subs too

    Me neither.
My son (20 yrs) tells me 4 at the back is the popular way across the divisions.
Haven't watched any of the preseason but I try to follow on here.
Sounds like Grant has to start. Jones is a given.
I think the forward line has possibilities, so not too worried about that.
    Midfield is the conundrum.

No idea, but given we havent looked great, maybe revert to three at the back lol.

If so, i would like to start
    mannion
back three of ramsay jones billy
mwamba with either cov or doc in the middle
    Carey in front of them.
Front three of grant, leaburn, tc

if back 4, then danny mac and mesik would likely get a start for me.

After a lot of consideration I've decided our best formation should be 5 ,4, 4
GIves us a slight advantage but even then I'm not sure we would win

No way we are playing 5 at the back. The recruitment and formations in pre season clearly show we're going 4-5-1 / 4-3-3

At the end of last season, I was team Kaminski but he has been shocking. Mannion is a safe pair of hands against a L2 team so why not gamble and give brooks a game. He might turn out to be good

Your ideal line up has 10 players and no defenders on the wings
