Don't particularly care, much more interested in the starting XI Vs Derby

No idea, but given we havent looked great, maybe revert to three at the back lol.

If so, i would like to start
    mannion
back three of ramsay jones billy
mwamba with either cov or doc in the middle
    Carey in front of them.
Front three of grant, leaburn, tc

if back 4, then danny mac and mesik would likely get a start for me.
Your ideal line up has 10 players and no defenders on the wings
10 is all we need mate

    Mannion
    Ramsay
    Jones
    Koumetio
    Melik
Trialist (how do we play him?)/Gough
    Mwamba
    Knibbs
    TC
    Alli
    Grant
  • Apter probably gets a decent amount of minutes you think. Same with Tanto.

At worst it’s gets them minutes and puts them in the lower league shop window. At best it gives jones an indication of what they will be like in a competitive game

Doesn’t seem likely that any signings we do make before then will play a part.

Can’t see why Tanto would get minutes, unless he plays wide .  One of the many baffling signings of last summer

Not for a first round cup game against lower division opponents. I don’t think he’ll take the risk

    ..........Kaminski
    Ramsay Jones Billy Bell
    .........Coventry Doc (C)
    TC........Knibbs...........Grant
    ............Leaburn

Godden, Carey, Alli to come on at around the 60 minute mark for Leaburn, Knibbs, and Grant.

I think Jones will go with what he views as his first choice XI like he would with the final pre-season friendly under most circumstances.

Also, let me get this in early: Does anyone know of a good stream for this game? Annoyingly, Paramount + here isn't showing it as one of the eight Carabao Cup games they're showing this weekend.

Would Brooks be worth starting in goal? I did wonder last season whether he could have played against Swansea once the game became a dead rubber.

Assume Carey will start otherwise that’s quite a while between the Colchester friendly and the league starting next week.

Think you can make an argument Knibbs deserves to start the season ahead of Carey from what we’ve seen in preseason

I make you both right. Carey starts on Saturday and Knibbs starts in the league

That was my point. Carey gets minutes on Saturday so he’s at least played some football recently. Knibbs starts in the league as things stand.
