One of the problems atm is there are all sorts of different emails and numbers and you've no idea if they are still functioning, right for what you are asking or just looked at and ignored. If the club could put out one contact and one only then at least you know you've hit the spot. Chasing up a message repeatedly and having no idea who, if anybody is on the other end and you just end up giving up. Put somebody in charge and then at least if they fob you off, you know you're being fobbed off.fenaddick said:

thanks Clive, fair enough - people should be bombarding the fans email if not happy with the bag drop thing - i'll also use it to enquire about a parking space - never know, i might get a reply which would be good - i don't expect to get a space as i know how scarce they are but be nice to know what the process is and if there is any chance at some pointclive said:DOUCHER said:What is needed is almost like a triage number to ring or email address to contact - you contact that and only that and the onus is then on the person at the club on the other end to pass it on to the appropriate person. 12-12.30 on matchday 3pm kick offs.
Just how many fans are able to/choose to get to The Valley 2.5-3 hours before ko ...
...especially taking the food, beverages & allied costs there into account.
Ah, maybe that's the plan !

I was in the owners suite for Spurs and thought if there were any owners planning a trip they would have come for the Spurs/West Ham games.
Carter, Elliot and Rodwell were all there on a table with family and 3-4 other chaps but I didn't recognize the others.
99% certain they were not Brener, Friedman or Rosenfeld though which surprised me a little at the time. I mean that is about as glamour a tie for an owner to come to as you can get for us at the moment.

OK. For those on here interested enough to read on, as a paid up member of CAST, I messaged Weegie to reiterate my earlier posts on here regarding communication between CAST & the club about the issues that are concerning fans at this moment in time.
I stated that I feel CAST is the only vehicle in a position to request urgent face to face contact with whoever is holding the reins behind the scenes on such matters. With the upcoming International Break, I suggested this would be the ideal time to arrange & then announce said meeting beforehand, with feedback promised as soon as matches restart ie a definitive timeline. I reiterated that the loyal fans, and especially CAST members, deserve no less.
Weegie responded that CAST has picked up some points with the club already & would be following up this week again ahead of the Supporters' Forum meeting in mid October. She added that following up on said points with the club as soon as possible is top of the agenda & that an update for members should be published on the CAST website by the end of this week. Once this has been done, the update will be shared here on CL too and she requested that Lifers bear with the situation /watch this space in the coming week. I was assured that CAST are fully aware of the issues involved. I did add that I felt it wouldn't hurt to emphasise that the matchday experience isn't just about the football..and that rising costs are impacting the average Addick more than ever.
I also made the point that I felt the Supporter Forum meetings should be quarterly rather than every 6 months so that issues arising are not allowed to fester & grow unless addressed earlier which Weegie agreed would be suggested. These meetings are the only time that a group of regular fans are able to bring their views /concerns directly to the attention of club staff.
So, there we are. I do understand that the views of the democratically elected Board need to be gathered & their planned approach agreed in order to have the best chance of achieving the right outcome so we need to be patient but progress is being made ....At least we have over 3 weeks' grace before the ordeal of the bag drop is faced once more and the question posed as how much breakfast we can scoff before we enter The Valley
Over & out for now.

Ok, but Spurs is somewhat a one off I think in terms of the exec experience. You won't be getting that at Blackburn or Lincoln I suspect... But we digress from the point of the thread somewhat.
That said, the likes of Varney would have had the PL exec experience but it didn't stop him doing a wonderful job and being connected with the club and it's fans. That is more around work ethic and integrity.
I do agree however that the off field structure of the club is not in the best of shapes right now. The lack of CEO just one example. Fans (and I include myself to an extent), don't moan when things on the pitch are going well.
That said, I couldn't speak more highly of the fan experience staff after this Saturday who were absolutely superb on Junior Addicks day. One of my little ones enjoyed a day they will never forget (positively).6 -

I would want none of the hierarchy going anywhere near operations they have no experience or intelligence in otherwise they could just make things worse. Equivalent of Sandgaard hiring his son for player recruitment.Rodwell is for all purposes has been “head of football operations” his role is helping Jones get players to deliver a product on the pitch which your lying to yourself if you think he hasn’t done that well in the last 2 years.People may not like his character and charisma but he shouldn’t be holding blame for ticket prices fan engagement etc when there is no evidence to suggest that falls under his job description. That was much more Warrick’s area before he was terminated3 -

That was much more Warrick’s area before he was terminatedI’m suggesting JR and the others around the SMT / board type meetings must surely listen / be involved in such decisions / approvals. After all the state of the finances impact the football budget for transfers etc.
As a relatively small entity I think all the voices around the table have opinions to add.I hadn’t thought Carter was acting in isolation as the apparent default lead individual.I’m not particularly calling out JR only suggesting I’d have thought he was adding his views just as I’d expect them all to.On something as basic as ticket affordability they should all be able to see it from a fans perspective.2 -

We don’t have a commercial director. And a large number of those other roles are just interims.Crispywood said:
we have a chief financial officer, a head of finance, commercial director, a commercial partnership manager, head of marketing, head of retail and licensing seems to me that is being thought of.valleynick66 said:

They’d been told what team we were putting out. 🙁Athletico Charlton said:Weegie Addick said:Does anyone know when any of the owners apart from Gavin Carter last attended a match? Gabriel Brener was at the last home match of last season obviously. Have any attended this season?
I was in the owners suite for Spurs and thought if there were any owners planning a trip they would have come for the Spurs/West Ham games.
Carter, Elliot and Rodwell were all there on a table with family and 3-4 other chaps but I didn't recognize the others.
99% certain they were not Brener, Friedman or Rosenfeld though which surprised me a little at the time. I mean that is about as glamour a tie for an owner to come to as you can get for us at the moment.Nice he and others could take their family.Meanwhile our own ticket prices need to increase apparently…😡
He didn't take any of his family that I am aware. I wasn't specific as to whose family (and see no need to be, but am just commenting on this before some weird pile on ensues).
The food and wine were very good.
I doubt opposing teams have to pay but may be wrong.I’m really highlighting the disconnect between the experience of fans v execs and perhaps why no one is really fixing the issues being cited.
I do agree however that the office field structure of the club is not in the best of shapes right now. The lack of CEO just one example. Fans (and I include myself to an extent), don't moan when things on the pitch are going well.

Didn't the commercial director Alice leave a couple of weeks back? Came in from Formula E if I recall correctly which has always kinda struggled itself commercially.0

I think it just emphasises how ineffective it is in carrying out that function. In absolutely disgusted that @Kap10 never got a response from the club or the Fans Advocates when he contacted them with his issue.DOUCHER said:

Well, i used that fans email yesterday to request info re parking spaces - i don't hold out much hope of getting one but would like to know how much / what the process / waiting list is etc - just a reply telling me i've got no chance will be something having been blanked completely for the last few years - lets see2 -

That takes you to the payment site. As far as I can tell West Stand car park is for hospitality only and costs £50 per match. They also sell spaces at Makro for £250 -

So basically like 99% of clubs it’s not for sale but if someone with better prospects toScoham said:Gavin Carter literally confirmed a full sale couldn’t be ruled out when he spoke to Rich Cawley.
What supporters would probably want me to ask you is whether there is a scenario where it could be fully sold to a completely new person or group? Is that a possibility?
The ownership group really enjoy owning and progressing Charlton Athletic but every asset has ultimately a price, so I wouldn’t rule that out.
take the club forward and offered silly money the club would listen.. really Yawn …. People don’t like it cause we are doing well have to
try and bend a normal comment into
Something it’s not to try and rock the boat .

I wouldn’t personally say that’s great evidence, it’s generally agreed they’ve spent incredibly poorly and are only getting away with it because of their commercial incomeChris_from_Sidcup said:
