    Cup games really are shite.

Play your first team and win = they’re all fucking knackered for the Saturday game.
Play Your first time and lose= They are still all knackered for nothing.
Play your B team and lose = Meltdown.

The only time you can ever really ‘win’ is by getting through with a rotated squad. That was just never going to happen tonight was it.
  • Asiimwe is a kid who isn't even that good at right back, who is being forced to now play at left back. Definitely not a player to dig out here.
  • Considering this is a fairly new ground, the pitch drop off at either end is really odd and seems to be fairly dangerous
  • The worst thing about that first half performance is the commentary.

How many players have done their ACL at that stadium. My spurs mate text me when Collins went off and said “it’s the spurs acl curse”
    Not sure it’s an ACL.

Very clear that our lineup is made of players who are not match fit or up to speed. Working hard but a lot of miss placed passes when we actually do get the ball. Oh well, getting a result was always a long shot. Hopefully we can get a goal for the fans there

Needed to keep that to 1-0....some poor defending for both goals. Reserves have done well mostly, despite losing both centre backs. Knibbs has been awful, and Apter not very good. Cannot suggest subs as need to save all we can for Saturday. COYA!

Didn't hear Knibbs mentioned until about 40 mins! Forgot he was playing! bin him off!

Less important than the two goal deficit is the injuries to the two central defenders.

I thought Assimwe was OK in defense except for slipping over ever now and then.

Asiiwme looked why out his depth …
Probably because he is against a side like this while playing out of position. He’ll go out on loan or be sold, and no guarantee he gets another L1 club like he did last season.
He is out of his depth but so far he's floating better than some.

If we hadnt played him he would be.
  • Two poor goals conceded -  some careless defending. Not many players making a claim for the first team.

Not sure Ouma is ready but it’s PL opposition to
be fair. Brooks certainly needs a loan.
I don't think the club have any real expectations that Brooks will ever make the grade. He's just the third goalie.

Ouma is the biggest concern for me. I don't expect to see Asiimwe or Apter in a Charlton shirt again, so I don't really care about their performances

If Mannion, Sichenje, Burke and Koumetie, along with Edwards, are all out then we will have a real lack of depth in defence.

This is not based on tonight - but wouldn’t be too sad if we shifted Knibbs and Apter out if we could do a bit more wheeling and dealing before Tuesday.

Lads were playing a Premier League side worth about 500million with Asiimwe at CB and Brooks in goal.

Please don’t be stupid with the comments
    That’s it.

Our best 11 would not win this, so anyone moaning about the team selection should think on.

Spurs are much better, so less whining please

Attacking player not getting much involvement against a team 20 x the value of ours. Yeah he's rubbish. Good grief

Personally think the scoreline harsh .. the ref been diabolical…. We are now disjointed at the back the forward player are having to spend to much time in our own half .. but the odd time we got forward we looked ok .. 10 changes don’t think we ashamed ourselves but it seems to be all against us out there ..

Other than it being a new  ground, I’m so fucked off with the team selection. A few changes ok, but 10 is taking the piss.

Nice to hear Chris Perry at HT
  • What did people expect from this team? Admittedly some haven't been at their best but come on!

Poor keeping for the first and an Ouma mistake for the second, likely neither play Saturday. Thought Mesik looked really good

Those two goals don’t get any better seeing them on replay.

Just hope Billy going off is more precautionary but I always fear the worse with our track record of injuries. Other than that, I am looking forward to Saturday but not the second half tonight.
