    I know he's been exceptional in his two cameo appearances last week but I'd be hesitant about starting Mwamba tomorrow - I wouldn't want to be putting too much pressure and expectation on his shoulders just yet. Bring him on with half an hour to go and let him run at tiring players.

    Keep Ivan the Younger at LB, inject TB into the centre-back pairing alongside the skipper with D-Mac on the right.

    I don't know who should play alongside Coventry as the deep midfielder - Ouma, perhaps?

    I'd keep Carey in the half-forward line with Grant and TC and let Miles have another run up top. In practice the front four would rotate around a bit so they won't be in fixed positions and all spend time at 10.

    Assuming no injuries ... second half subs would see Mwamba, Alli and Micah make an appearance.

    Score prediction: HT 0-0 ... FT would love to see 0-1 (it has to be Karlan, doesn't it? Alan with the assist to get the bandwagon rolling a bit quicker) but would quite happily take 1-1.

    Then we can move onto Saturday's Bob Munro derby to get back to winning ways ;)

    (Is it just me or does it feel strange to be vaguely optimistic about Charlton at the moment? If we carry on like this I might have to revise my pre-season prediction of a 17th-place finish to something considerably higher ... like 14th or 15th)

    Different challenge then it was last season started very well at home and this really will test us but then again …. this could be our first defeat? …. 2-1

    Like West Ham, We will be under the cosh but we can hurt teams this year it seems so will happily take a draw. 

    Draw away games, win your home games! Leaburn to get a much deserved goal.

    Expecting us to be under the cosh, think West Brom were hampered by mismanagement last year - get out of there with a point and we’ve done well but we’re more than capable of all 3.

    I don't suppose either side want to play this on a Wednesday. But it is even harsher on us being part of two consecutive away games. And the team we play on Saturday get an extra day's rest. I can see why Jones gets annoyed.

    It's gonna be a proper ding dong this one. They are looking impressive, and with home advantage, they won't be standing off us, will be a tough entertaining game.  Going with 2-2. Leaburn and TC

    Hopefully our momentum can get us at least a point. Chalobah I'd imagine won't play which is a shame but time for someone else, Mwamba or whoever to shine.

    Wonder if NJ will throw JRC in for NC. A experienced head will be needed tonight, unleash the raw power of Mwamba as Saturday, later in the game if we're chasing.

    I reckon even JRC will be able to outsprint anyone on the pitch tonight.

    I think Grant as a "10" is too cavalier for an away game against a good West Brom side and expect Carey will start. Reckon Bindon for Bell will be the only change and will be interesting to see if our new winger makes the bench.

    I'm not expecting our win run to continue because i'm conditioned against good thing happening, but I do sometimes wonder if we are the most pessimistic fan base out there.

    Forgot about Chalobah's injury. Would love to see Mwamba but reckon it will be JRC.

    We go one nil up which allows us all to go mental for a while at the prospect of 4 in 4, before losing 2-1 in a second half collapse.

    It's the most Charlton outcome that I fully expect to take place.

    I think this is where our perfect record ends. 

    Will be interesting to see if Skipp gets done and gets in the team. I think he could be backup for Chalobah, but it's not a done deal yet and he won't have even had a training session with his new team so doubt he'll start. Disregard, he's suspended.  

    I think Mwamba comes into the team and Carey keeps his place with Chalobah being out. I think a game like this will require more defending, which Carey does well, and it will also provide some space for him to pick up the ball and drive into. I think Grant and TC start on the flanks, and swap at some point during the match.

    Skipp presumably still has one more match of a 3 match ban to serve for getting sent off in Leicester’s game against Burton on Saturday 22 August. They had one game last Saturday and not including the cup match (or do they count ?) they played a second EFL game last night, which I’m assuming he was still a Leicester player and not a Charlton one and would have been eligible to play for them if he wasn’t banned. That leaves one more match to serve (if the Carabou cup match isn’t counted).

    Just checked and looks like the cup match doesn’t count. ** below

    Another tough game to come. Really pleased our good start gives a cushion from the bottom 3. Our strongest 11 should get something here but I am sure there will be changes. Tricky one but West Brom might sneak it  2-1.

    Take a draw. As Naby has said I wonder whether NJ will rest Leaburn.
    We cannot afford to lose him ling term while Kelman and Godden are injured. It would be a disaster.
