Toilets that never/rarely flush all the toilet paper

Ok, this should be on the things that generally annoy you thread, but I thought it deserved a thread of its' own.
We had a toilet that always seemed to leave a sheet of paper when flushed, no matter whether there had been a lot of paper or very little.
We got a new toilet (not solely for that reason) I read the reviews and no one mentioned this problem with the toilet I was going to buy.
It's not like you can test it.
Anyway, obviously the new toilet does exactly the same, although not on the day it was installed.
So I really need to know how common this is?

Look at the kind of paper used... try a lighter one ? Remember the old tracing paper bog roll - that always flushed, newer bogs use less water . We have a tiny bog (new), but the mechanism used for less water flushes it like a tidal wave !! Never had such a vicious flush!0

Modern cystens contain less water than older versions.
Unfortunately this is a common problem.0 -
How do you weigh sheets of toilet paper?charlton4ever said:Look at the kind of paper used... try a lighter one ? This is a rough subject for me, any building more than 10 years old always involves a bin for shitroll, it’s absolutely awful

Does it flush the turd? After that, I couldn't give a shit (pun intended)3

My solution is, if possible, install a bidet. If you don't have the space then buy a portable bum gun. Can pick them up for 30 quid. It isn't worth cheaping out on them, they will leave your dung funnel feeling as fresh as a spring lamb. Then you are just dabbing and drying your puckered balloon knot. These bum guns pay for themselves in bog roll savings fairly quickly and you are saving trees too
I use room temperature water but after treating myself to a Vindaloo from the star of Bengal I fill it with water first thing and leave it to chill in the fridge. When that ice cold water hits my raging bullseye my eyes go like the undertaker from WWF. Life changing and leaves you with a muck pipe you could eat a salad off45 -

Wipe it on yer shirt tails, like all good Plumstead boys from the 50s.!0

I once installed a toilet seat from Japan that cost 6k.
Came with a remote control that raised and lowered the seat when required, played music and then washed your arris afterwards.2 -
Try holding the flush button for a couple of seconds. I think that most modern cisterns have a duel flush syphons. The press and hold is required for 'if you pass solids'.2

I’ll never look at a salad the same.2

My inlaws toilet is utter crap. I had a shit once and after 5 flushes some of the bog roll still wasn't even wet, let alone flushed away!4

Funny thing is back in the 60s the outdoor bogs would have sunk the Bismark when you flushed them. Now with all the modern technology and design they can’t cope with even a modest log.
Back to the future with a good old fashioned kahzi.0 -
Of all people, I would have thought you knew exactly what it was.DaveMehmet said:

Don't flush.
Build up a quantity of 'night soil' and use it as manure for growing stuff. Either in your garden or window box or donate to the local open space without much growing there.
All easily done if you lose your sense of smell.1 -
Be grateful you do not live out in Brazil. The paper does not go in the toilet but in the bin instead, I use plenty of air freshener and cleaning products as you can imagine.0 -
Yes, I found this to my dismay on a visit to China some years back. I had to have a swift lesson in origami.Stu_of_Kunming said:This is a rough subject for me, any building more than 10 years old always involves a bin for shitroll, it’s absolutely awful0 -

Still do that in some places in the Med, like Cyprus although it's becoming rarer.ElfsborgAddick said:
