We need all 3. Those are our 3 weak points, hopefully we can try and address them short term in January and then those 3 will be the important positions this summer.se9addick said:
I actually think the main thing we need is a Chalobah-like player that is able to play regularly. The evidence would suggest that is a bigger priority than a number 10 or RW.ct_addick said:We need a good #10 playmaker and until that is resolved we will struggle.......Frustrating because 2 of them were clearly where Jones wanted to add quality this summer. We wanted Holsgrove and Rak-Sakyi but have ended up with Chalobah for 3 games and no natural right winger. And then people blame Jones for us not being great!3 -
We also got screwed again by half our first team defenders being or getting injured, Koumetie, Ramsay, Edwards, Sichenje, Mannion, Burke and having to bring in a young lad at CB who is error prone and having to play a non league goalie at Spurs.NabySarr said:

All in all I would say NJ's main problem is that he is not lucky. But as Napoleon said, the most important quality for a general to have is luck.

We spent all summer chasing Holsgrove and Rak Saki.
We end up giving him Ouma Alli and a kid from Wimbledon.
NJ ain't perfect but he's doing as well as he can in the circumstances.8 -
Well somehow I missed that,I honestly did not know our former player Joe Aribo was recently on trial with us.wolfgang said:
He was on trial here recently for an extended period, longer than most triallists are allowed. He was not remotely near the required standard. The fact that no-one else has signed him reinforces that verdict.thickandthin63 said:
Because he is a good footballer,he has premier and championship experience, and also SPL experience, thats all.ElfsborgAddick said:

First time I've seen it mentioned too. Would be odd as it would have to have been while the window was open and we weren't scared to play trialists so I'm taking with a pinch of saltthickandthin63 said:

Wow, what remarkable information, and from such a trustworthy source too1

It’s clear that you don’t like Jones. ( Scruffy!?) Your analysis of his tenure is incredibly skewed to suit your own prejudice. The 5 games played in September do represent relegation form when taken in isolation but even a cursory view of the table will show we are in the top half of the table. This is because we had won three games on the trot in August. ( Even you admit we had a legitimate goal disallowed against QPR, which had it been allowed, would have put us in top six! ) When Jones became manager two and a half years ago we were in very real danger of dropping in into the relegation places in league one. From memory, I believe we were seventh from bottom with all the teams below us having games in hand. In his first few months in charge he pulled us away from relegation to the fourth tier. The following year, his first full year in charge, he got us promoted.Lincsaddick said:Excuse me in advance for my glum and somewhat unsubstantiated opinions mixed with fact
In the month of September we have played 5 games, 3 away, 2 at home .. won nil, drawn 2, lost three, 2 goals scored, 8 conceded. This is relegation form.l
We were unfortunate that a marginal offside call went against us (Campbell) v QPR, equally in my opinion we were fortunate not to lose that game. We were overrun at Stoke and Cardiff.
We hear the same 'analysis' from a scruffy and hang dog looking Nathan Jones after every game. 'We need to be the best we can be' etc etc with seemingly no plan to get to the best they can be or any improvement at all from his players
I was against Jones' appointment as manager way back when, but admit that he has been far more successful than I expected , small humble pie eaten.
However, I think his time to move on or to be moved on has come. He's run out of ideas, I suspect a few players are fed up with his idiosyncratic managerial methods.
I can't see him as a sympathetic, 'modern' man manager. He looks to me to be an impatient, non sympathetic blusterer. This might have worked in the past. not today though
Perhaps the owners have been loath to provide adequqte funds for signings as they can't trust Jones and his team to spend very sustantial sums wisely on freash players.
I hope I am totally wrong and that we have a great October against some very difficlt teams, As ever, we will seeI don’t believe that that Jones is the greatest manager in our history, but he is the first of 20 managers we have had since Chris Powell to get us promoted to the Championship and not get immediately relegated.4 -
And there we have the results of posting while intoxicated. A total brainfart. I somehow confused him with wassisname.thickandthin63 said:
