    Never get the "fear" with Croatia... three games, two of which came under McClaren, the other annoyingly in 2018 have turned them into strange bogeyman with us... As otherwise we've never really struggled against them

    I think a lot of that improvement came under Howe at Newcastle but playing with WC players for England and Barcelona will definitely contribute. A lot of people scoffed when Newcastle paid £45m for him and having to sell him, Tonali and Guimares was probably one of the major contributing factors in Howe resigning. 

    One thing that is as important to England is Gordon's relationship with Hall on the left. It's a shame that Tuchel didn't pick Hall for the WC for that very reason but, moving forward, I would like to see the two as fixtures in the side.
