Absolutely shocking. I honestly believe some of the players are scared of him or dare I say cannot stand him.

Get yourself a lottery ticket. That’s the luckiest thing to happen to a Charlton fan in a very long time
I set my alarm for 7.15 am for the 7.30 ko, I’m never buying a lottery ticket again.

Really looking forward to a 17 hour round trip to middlesborough next week and 6-0 defeat !!!

Why did i book it ?

Maybe it was because of the excellent away performances at Cardiff and Watford that i experienced.

    I guess i must be a masocist
Only 6, I think you are an optimist.

As other people have noted, there was a sudden inexplicable change after 20 minutes. Until then we had played well, then suddenly............. I can remember the precise moment. Okonkwo had the ball at his feet. He stood there for nearly a minute with nothing happening. It seemed to hypnotise the whole team and they played from then on as if they had been administered some potion that reduced them to sleepwalkers. It was that one moment of total lack of urgency that turned the whole game.

Not wishing to gloss over the fact that we were poor,we also had some really bad luck,
1)Our goal which was ruled out was a goal
    2)Mbick pulled back,when through,why no foul
3)TC had a shot  which was deflected but slipped by the post,
4)Their guy had a shot deflected,it went in.
Who knows if that ruled out goal could have changed our fortunes and given us a lift instead of dragging the players and the fans down.Small margins.

Dissecting the game a bit, I'm going to go through each starting player and offer what I thought about them.

Okonkwo is a decent reaction keeper, and slightly better at claiming balls compared to recent keepers like MacGillivray and Kaminski, but oh my lord is his kicking absolutely atrocious, and it actively disrupts our play. One moment at a goal kick Jones and Koumetio were short, Okonkwo waved them away and kicked it, but because of the new rule with the 5 seconds to kick it, they were both 15 yards deeper than they should be, and he shanked the kick, meaning their player won the ball and played it into a running attacker, as Jones and Koumetio were caught on the turn, as they were busy sprinting in the opposite direction to catch up with play. This was late into the second half and we had been carved open loads by then, so it wasn't anything new.

Ramsay is great one v one, but his concentration is what let's him down. Twice in the first half he tried stupid flicks, one led to the goal, the other led to Grant having to scramble back and try and block a cross. On 3 separate other occasions they played balls into their left channel and he was nowhere to be seen, because he had wandered off somewhere. And to cap it off when we're losing, I don't want to see him strolling about taking 30 seconds to take a throw in or set piece, he has zero awareness and urgency to his play.

Jones, worst game in a Charlton shirt so far, he was so passive for 90% of the time, seemed to time every header wrong and got caught on the wrong side of the man more often than not. I also didn't see him try and gee up the players or the fans once, being the "best player" in the squad doesn't automatically mean you're the best captain, and I don't see him actually leading our side as a captain at all. At point today a ball dropped less than 5 yards Infront of him and instead of playing the ball he dropped off and pointed to someone else to get it, then just stood there when Norwich nipped in and ran off with it

Koumetio, for all his fantastic last ditch tackles and occasional marauding run, had a head like a 50p piece and cannot pass the ball for the life of him. One point today he took a pass from Okonkwo and tried to pick out Coventry, under hit it by 10 yards, it rebounded back to him and he tried the exact same thing again and again mishit it, this time fizzing it into him far too hard.

Edwards, he is so off the pace it's like watching a Scottish Hernandez from last season so far, he's an absolute passenger and given away a silly foul and got a yellow both starts he's had this season. The nonexistent defending at the back post for the second wasn't a man who can't be arsed, but more of a man currently so far off the pace he physically can't get into the game in a meaningful way. Grant on the left looked lost today and for once I felt sorry for him, because every time he looked for support, Josh is 15 yards behind blowing out his arse

Coventry, the biggest thing lauded about him is his tackling and ability to mop the ball up, but all he did today was pass backwards, lump it forwards or shadow defend, where he loosely tracks a man but doesn't actually get close enough to pressure them, but just close enough to open up a yawning gap in the middle of the pitch behind him. Looks lost without a second DM with him and looks lost whenever the ball is at his feet and he's over the halfway line.

Rankin-Costello started the game well, a lot of pressing and some decent passes to boot, he won a couple of tackles high up the pitch too. However second half he was back to chasing shadows, and his set pieces were of a man who clearly doesn't take them in training right now, proper hit and hope stuff. When we made the triple sub, the Norwich players were confused and didn't know who to pick up, and he couldn't beat the first man with the corner, and it relieved any pressure we had

Carey is a one trick pony, and that trick is run with the ball towards the goal. Last season he was getting off shots and scoring goals in the first half of the season, but as we faded as a club and he stopped scoring, he got more and more selfish on the ball and that's continued into this season. Again today, he goes on a run, has a great opportunity to play in his man and takes another touch, clearly hoping to have a shot instead, eventually they close him down and all he can do is have a shot which is easily blocked, but if he released it earlier we're in on goal.

Campbell, the opening shot set his tone today, no real conviction and a bit powderpuff. He didn't seem to be as dangerous overall and I wonder how much of that was because he was on the right for a lot of the first half and having to cover both fullbacks more than normal. Second half however he just seemed to sulk and wander about on the right, exposing our crap defence even more.

Grant is very frustrating right now, I get we've played him out of position all season, but today he was on his favoured left side and didn't get into the game at all, and in fact spent more time getting in the way of runs from other players than anything else meaningful. He also is meant to be a senior player on the field and doesn't really guide or encourage others.

Kelman, his vision on runs and the composure to finish that chance shows us what we've sorely lacked by sticking with Miles up top, but we didn't capitalise on it enough, it worked in the first 15 minutes, why did we then sack that off in favour of pumping aimless longer balls to him? One thing he really needs to work on though is his passing, twice when we were 2 on 2 he had the opportunity to pick out the other attacker and twice he under hit it and killed the momentum.

No chance. Forest had a very good squad for the level and a good budget. We have neither of these things and Cooper wouldn't even enter discussions with us. Not a realistic choice

It didn't matter especially but maybe a sign of desperation...but where was Alli meant to be playing? It looked like he went into CM as a straight swap for Coventry to me.

    If so....weird and mental.

Got to forget this idea of being more expansive. If you don't have the players to do it then don't do it. It's like the fad of playing out from the back. If your defenders aren't comfortable on the ball and your midfield doesn't show for the easy pass out then you are just inviting trouble.
LJ is looking increasingly worse in a back four and we have gone from a side that is tough to score against to one that is easy to create chance after chance against. Our midfield comes off second best game in, game out.
If we don't return to three centre-backs and make ourselves harder to play against then we are only going one way and that is back down to League One.
Sadly you are spot on.Lets do whatever it takes to get a couple of 1-0 wins.Boring but it doesnt send me home miserable like I am today and was last saturday

I don't know that Pep wouldn't either but I can make a pretty educated guess. Delusion if you think we have a chance of Cooper

That was about as dispiriting as it comes. Other than a good first 20 minutes and decent performances from Campbell and Kelman, there were no real positives.

We are heading inexorably into a relegation dogfight. In fairness to Nathan Jones, what could any manager realistically do with this squad ? Poor recruitment has put us in big trouble - in summer 25, we signed 4 League 1 men who have failed to step up, plus Rankin-Costello and Kaminski; last summer, the owners declined to put their hands in their pockets and spent only £1.5 million net, including spunking £1 million on Ali, presumably on the misguided assumption that TC was off. The owners clearly have no appetite for what is required in this division..

The problem since our League 1 promotion season has been the midfield, but all Jones got this summer was two underperforming loanees, one of whom has apparently done a bunk.

    We are in big trouble.
Straight after the play off final (in the fan zone ?) didnt NJ say the owners had millions to spend, or something like that.
To be clear this ownership have spent multiple millions. Charlton is a money pit, and not one that brings any joy.
They knew what they signed up for, they are successful business people not stupid or naive . The bottle has gone and are happy it seems to let NJ take the flack.
The reason they are successful business people and not stupid or naive is because they do not continually throw good money after bad and know when to pull out of an investment or when to double down.
If there is no big buyer round the corner they will lose a few more million. I can't see the upside of owning a football cclub at this level other than to flip it to a richer investor?
Whatever we think, the club is still better off than under  Sandgaard or the idiots before him.
Hope springs eternal on and off the pitch, but we look like re-cutting our cloth back in L1 again probably with a new owner as well?

As it stands we are 3 points off the last relegation spot

Next 3 games we have Boro away and then both Bolton & Sheff U at home. Those 2 home games are crucial......and both are must win. Anything less & we'll be in the bottom 3
We will lose all three without a management change.

Need to spend £5m minimum in January to stay up, which won't happen.
We need a minimum of two good players, MF and wide right. Players who will not "compete for a place", or "strengthen the squad", but will be automatic choices as starters, This season, average Championship clubs have been paying 5 to 10 million quid each for such players (and still many of them have failed). So I would say your 5m minimum is very optimistic.

Frustration is something we are getting used to.
Where do you put the blame, owners not spending more?
NJ picking wrong team and tactics?
Players not playing well or not good enough?
I thought NJ at last picked an attacking team although I did not agree with a couple of choices. Edwards is not fit enough to start and Grant has had enough chances.
When we scored I honestly thought we had cracked it but then the Players looked like they thought we had already won.
As I said last week, our passing is terrible and when will we start winning 50/50 balls again?
What do we practice in training?
I am still optimistic, I do not know why

They'd scored a goal which then means, according to Nathan's exciting tactics, they've effectively finished the beautiful game and return to defend so we don't lose. How many players would actually choose to do this? It must be soul destroying to play like that. I should think they are as sick of Nathan as I am.

The match sponsors …. Think they said they were Chinese or had friends over from china … they do a picture with the player then they get the match ball sponsor to do a pic , today they’d already fucked off 🤣
