Trying to write not being angry, in fact I’m just apathetic to us at the moment, was really good up until our goal ..  and then!!!!!
NJ core mentality is not to lose 1st and foremost, that is now the mentality of all of our players,we tried to defend a one goal lead and failed again. we are fragile as fuck and I don’t believe that all of  those players are as bad as they have been showing, 2nd  half those players looked like they couldn’t give a shit, I’m going cliche on this and say they were not playing for the manager, the way Ramsay meandered over to the free kick at the end was typical of this. I will be forever thankful for NJ’s efforts but that today was a camels back breaker, I think the players threw him under a bit today but that situation isn’t going to improve now, something has to change, unfortunately it’s going to be the manager, this board have a big decision to make which is of they’re own making, whether or not NJ. Would have done better with better players will be for up for debate, but the board didn’t back him sufficiently and it’s coming home to roost. They want out but they will not even recoup the outlay if and when at the moment we go down.  What are they going to do about this?.

Awful, simply no idea through the team. I hate to say it, but unless we change something soon, it's going to be a long season and bottom 3.

Jones will not be able to turn this around. Not because he doesn’t have the skill set, but because we simply have a completely under equipped squad of players for this level ☹️……… and apart from the outlier at West Ham, we haven’t even played the really good teams yet.
I’m not sure that’s true, I think this lot of players think Jones is a clown and can’t be bothered with him. You only have to watch the way they look at him when he’s yelling at them
I wonder if binning off Docherty like Jones did was the tipping point for these players?

Doc was obviously well liked and respected and when you see one of your team mates get treated like that, I suspect you dont burst a gut for the guy who did it.
Especially when his replacement was Skipp.

What a stupid stupid decision that was.

What happened on 20 minutes. It’s as if someone flicked a switch.
We can't press with Costello at number 10 for more than 20 minutes. He does not have it in him.

First 20 minutes great. Same old after that. Jones has his ready made excuse with the disallowed equaliser but we’re lucky Norwich only got three. Time up Jones.
After tc missed the early chance, my dad said lucky he missed that othwrwise we would sit back for 85 mins and loose.

But yeah, great first 20. Then fell back to nothingness as usual.

Rankin costello and carey - great for 30 mins, really effective , but we know their legs cannot last after that

edwards - doesnt look either fit or good enough

defence - lots of distribution mistakes

manager - his reaction after their third with the three subs. Just wild. Was the same last week. Doesnt seem like a plan.

We were unlucky with the og though!

Luck not going our way as well

It’s not like he doesn’t see the errors, just that they aren’t being fixed. I think he needs help. I think he needs another coach to bring some fresh ideas
  • Jones wants the players to be the best versions of themselves.  My fear is they already are.

A terrible result to follow weeks of terrible results. Nothing has improved since Cardiff.

This is on the owners for me, who spent nothing in the summer and now this is what we get.

What an avoidable relegation this will be, and I’m now in the ‘we’re getting relegated’ camp.

Sack Jones? What for? Who’s gonna save this team from relegation with Coventry and Skipp et al in midfield. It’s just a joke and I’m so irritated by it all.

What an absolute slog it was to get out of league one. I don’t think I have the stomach for it again.

Totally agree. What we need is a manager who can come in and galvanise these players. Someone who can pick up points we probably don't deserve, scrape the odd 1-0 win, and get us to January with enough points on the board to give the owners a clear message: back him in the transfer window or we're going down. For me, the best man for that job is probably Jones.
Perhaps he can leave & then come back 😄

    Grim.

  • I wasn't paying enough attention, but did the playing badly from 15 or 20 minutes coincide with TC and Grant switching? Or was the catalyst simply the goal, and we sat back from then?

He is far too proud/ stubborn to get help. He’d rather die on his sword.

Jones and Fleming are both defenders. Jones prides himself on building defensively solid sides. What we don’t need is another defender coach

Grant is a waste of space. Edwards isn't fit. It took forever to realise Skipp and Coventry can't play together. We are not good enough to carry players.

Kelman: “After the goal we dropped off and gave them too much respect…we need to have more know how…on the pitch we need to understand when teams pick us apart we need to stick together”

I agree, we need an attacking coach
  • I think Jones has lost the dressing room . That can be the only explanation for that performance.
    100% agree

Costello cannot press for more than 20 minutes. Once his puff had gone our midfield had to drop back. Everybody knows this about him, so why persist. Oh yes, because we have no number 10 who can.

We start games well but once the opposition work out our formation/tactics they take control while we don't have enough on the pitch or on the bench to change things.

We appear to be getting worst and for the first team this season I feel we're in a relegation battle.

Kelman did well and gives us more up top but we don't appear to have a coherent method of play to support him.

More worryingly, for a team built on clean sheets we can't defend.

It's going to be a long winter.

Why does it keep happening though.

The fans have identified it, the manager has identified it, the players have identified.

What is it that is constantly causing it to happen?

If it’s a mentality thing, then that is on the manager and the coaching staff to sort out.

I only watched snippets of the game so don't really want to comment too much. I was happy with the starting eleven bar Edwards. Mesik has been solid and deserves a run of games in my opinion and surely after a year out Edwards needs to be eased in gently, would you guys say he is off the pace at the moment?

I look at our squad and not only do we lack quality we lack experience and that know how to close out games. Dare I say it a Coady/Doc type player. We also lack game changers from the bench, are Knibbs, Alli, Leaburn really going to cut it?

Nine without a win is relegation form and we concede goals so easily these days. Really really worrying

We are in a right fucking mess.

4231 suits our best attacking player and literally no one else in the team.

532 suits almost everyone EXCEPT our best attacking player.

    Squad looks imbalanced.

    Players constantly out of position.

Wrong decisions made over and over again.

Quality lets us down in key moments.

Nothing is over or decided yet and we have played better than this so it is in the team to do it, but it looks really really grim right now and I have no great ideas for how we make it better with what’s currently available.

    Dismal second half.

One change had to be made at HT,  and that was taking Edwards off, as he was a complete liability at the start of the second half, positionally all over the place, and without the legs to get back. Instead we keep him on until we concede. When we have Mesik and Bell available,  a baffling decision to play Edwards anyway.

And I'm really confused why Skipp wasn't on the bench. Skipp and Coventry together doesn't work, but a midfield without either, which is how we finished,  is hopelessly open.

Very poor body language at the end, which is damping. 8 minutes of added time,  yet we were SO slow and disinterested. Miles was one of the few who seemed up for it.

Imagine that!!, a manager working out another teams tactics and adjusting to it. Mate we are in free fall.

We're very easy to 'figure out' - as most every other Championship team has long ago worked out. Charlton grab an early goal. No worries we can be got at and topped, as with today.  We go down a goal, yep game over and they all get this loud and clear. We're easy pickings, whatever way things cut.

Can we get Coady in for the next match…
    To play or manage?
    Or both?
