At the tango man's request, he has pursuaded then to reform and play at his forthcoming birthday.

If money was not an option who would you choose to perform at your birthday?

Rather surprised as I thought they all hated Jerry Dammers' guts.

For me would have to be The Band. Could do any style of music I liked and I could sing lead vocals on The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down (badly but it's my party and I'll sing flat if I wan't to.)
  • I'd get Simon Jordan to perform (Is This The Way To) Amarillo.
  • Faith No More or Kyuss.

Most of you philistines won't even know who they are, but I would wet my pants in public to get a ticket to see either of them again
  • The Wailers

    Oh, that would be cool.

So we have The Band, The Specials and the Wailers then the Clash and then back to the hotel where CSNY and Joni would jam while we chilled out. Then Keef and Ronnie and some of the Faces would turn up and we're sorted.

That would be a fun party NOT I love Tom Waits but not really my idea of a good time singer.

  • and Bowie with the Spiders.....
  • and Otis Redding with Dunn and Cropper in the backing band or maybe Marvin Gaye

    Nice one! :)
  • If you could bring people back to life then Jimi Hendrix with Nirvana to warm the place up first.

If not then Radiohead for me.

It would have to be at the Valley as well.
  • [cite]Posted By: Alex Wright[/cite]and Bowie with the Spiders.....

Rather have Lou with John, Mo and Stirling but I think they might get into a fight with Keef over the H.

I think the Who might be good, Elvis with the Jordannaires circa 1956 and Booker T and the MGs as the house band.

Yeah them as well for me and Pink Floyd at the Valley as well.
  • The Stone Roses for me.

Never got to see them live and they inspired a whole change of musical direction for me.
  • The Byrds circa Sweetheart of The Rodeo
    MC5
    King Tubby
    The Stone Roses 1988
Saint Etienne (not that they've split afaik)
  • The Smiths, although I wouldn't actually want them to reform.

    or

    Frank Sinatra
  • You bunch of feckin old wrinkleys.Jam yes,Smiths i would rather slash my wrists.
  • I agree with Leroy i'd love to see Kyuss reform,i never got the chance to see them live :(

Wasn't that the whole point of the Smiths? ;-)
  • One band who's members are all still alive are The Kinks.

Love to see them, probably one of the most underrated British bands.

Number one though would be the original Who line up.

No, I don't think they were aware of Steve at the time.
