  • also in 2 sunday papers.lets hope its not another defoe saga
  • Surely if he's that good, we should be getting him back from Barnet and getting him into our squad?
  • Wouldn't be surprised if bassey, wright and arter all feature at some point.

And didn't Pardew say last week that both Wright and Arter could feature "in the Championship" this season. Note not the Charlton first team but "the Championship.

He's 17, he's doing well for Barnet, there is some unsubstantiated rumour about Liverpool. Hardly means he should go straight in the team.

There's often a story behind the story. Maybe his agent is muck-raking to try and get him a better deal, maybe Charlton are stalling on a new contract, or its terms aren't as good as Wright would like. Maybe Liverpool have tapped up his mum, and have offered more money than Charlton, as West Ham did with Defoe. If you look at our midfield there are established first teamers who can't get a game - Ambrose, Holland, Reid, Sam, Racon, Thomas, Semedo etc are all ahead of Wright. Given that competition and his lack of experience and youth he's better off at Barnett, but he may think that the club aren't really that interested in his long term career.
  • There maybe a story behind a story but anyone can make up a story like that so here goes.

It could be that he loves it at Charlton, is grateful that he's given a chance to play in the league, is flattered by the praise from Pardew and the England call up and loves the food at Sparrows Lane so much he's going to get a big Charlton tattoo on his back when he's old enough and buy a house at West Malling.
  • he played against liverpool in the cup game a couple of weeks ago i think??
  • No. He didn't.

I just wonder if Josh Wright has done a cost-benefit analysis on his career...

  • Has just had his contract terminated by Smallwall so he can sign for another team. He always had ability and has siad he would love a return to the Valley, could be worth a punt.
  • He can return to the Valley, we are at home on Saturday, can someone let him know the price of a ticket.
  • only if he brings his sister with him.
  • Not good enough then, and not good enough now...

If he can't get a game for them lot, then I don't want him here.
  • Didn't he flounce out when Parky told him he wasn't being selected for a game?

Would like to know why they've terminated his contract first, doesn't sound too promising for him.

'Cos he can't dance like his brother?
  • only if he brings his sister with him.

    Perhaps his future sister-in-law too?

True ..... but he might have grown up a bit by now.

Neat and tidy player. Not that I think he was really good enough before.
And if he was good enough now, Millwall wouldn't let him go.

  • Thought he was at Colchester.
  • Always liked him as a player.

Hang on, isn't this the bloke who decided to leave us when his contract ran out after we gave him a break in the first team? Why aren't people chomping at the bit to rip him limb from limb like Poyet....

Nah, we gave him a couple of games in which he was anonymous, like Poyet he is good at going sideways but he did not win player of the year and I'm confident he would have been released anyway
  • Wasnt he close to signing for us again last january ?
