I was there, in the seats above the Chicken Run. We played really well that day and they never recovered from our early domination. To think we only stayed up by a whisker in the play-offs, showed just how difficult that league could be.1

Was there, came down from Scotland for a job interview on the Monday. Took the opportunity to take this game in. Got the job too and have never looked back.0

Unfortunately the record was beaten by Shane Long in 2019 for Southampton: 7.69 seconds.
Southampton were also the away team and Watford kicked-off.
Anyway as that is listed as the fastest Premier League goal ever and they never take into account what happened before 1992, we can say that jimmy scored the fastest ever in the old Division One.1
