And where locals like me always extend a warm welcome.

(edit: I have made this a bit smaller for those viewing at work, whose bosses may be wondering where this nirvana upon their screens is)

Chronic traffic problems mean that walking is the best form of transport.

While everyone agrees the crime rates are now at their lowest level since, ooooh, last week.

But it is, at least, easy to enjoy the view along the river. Especially if you are a swan.

Where they checked the Horse & Groom out for a location shoot in Trainspotting...but decided it was too far fetched for the public's imagination...

To help stop crime rates, this barrier stops people from Woolwich entering Charlton by boat.

Charlton's historic village centre is best enjoyed at 6am on a foggy Sunday morning after leaving an all-night party*.

Each April, this man blesses 20,000 people - they run through Charlton especially for the honour.

The CAFC cat always keeps an eye out for intruders, tapper-uppers, or followers of the infidel Palace.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of mess to clean up after the chairman of a neighbouring, lesser football club sneezed while leaving a recent match on foot. The poor cat still hasn't recovered.

And a healthy minority community is all to happy to show its respect to CAFC.

Charlton fans travel far and wide, even if the result isn't what they want.

"The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" is a popular refrain at CAFC matches.

    (sorry Stu.)
  • In conclusion, Charlton is between Greenwich and Woolwich. It's alright, really. Good football team, mind.
