    Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Aslaud.

This nephew of the Saudi king is one of the world's wealthiest investors, with a big stake in Citigroup. Received much publicity–some of it negative–in December 2005 for the $20 million gifts he made to Harvard and Georgetown to expand their Islamic studies departments. In January 2006, with a partner, announced a $3.9 billion deal to buy Fairmont Hotel & Resorts. In February listed his hotel holdings on the Dubai stock exchange. Planning to take his main investment group, Kingdom Holdings, public on the Saudi exchange later this year.

I thought it was another Communist icon falsely shaped around one of our former players? I mean, we've got to keep up the clubs socialist values and ethos ain't we? ;-(

What's the odds on the next one being a picture of Red Ken with CAFC emblazoned across his forehead?

BTW, I don't get how the Che Hales flag (and the top selling t-shirt/sweater) shows we have socialist values?

What about just a massive badge?

We've got one of those already.

The thinking for the next flag, is a big St Georges Cross, with the 4 badges (i.e. the 3 at the back of the covered end and the present one) in each quarter, with something deep and meaningful across the middle like 'This is Charlton'

Or we could unravel the flag accross the pitch magic carpet style, with the Sheik rolling out at the end....

I do a tiny little bit, but I think some people are looking for something that isn't there, cause I don't think people come to Charlton and think we're the last vestage of the warsaw pack cause of the flag.

I tend to think when Olaf Parker did the design, he thought it all fitted nicely and worked a treat, I ripped it off cause it was a cool design that worked on 324 Sq M of PVC, not out of a need to make people think about politics at football, we're not in Italy or Spain where the two are bed fellows.

OK, Rothko, just checking! I thought you would have watched The Motorcycle Diaires too. It's a fantastic design - I got the sweatshirt when it first came out.
  • Like the new idea for the flag, St Georges one that is.

I really like the film, drags in places, but good, but I'm far too much of a Social Democrat to buy the myth ;o)

The sweatshirt was a fantastically clever bit of design, cause it completly changed the way you viewed a iconic image and made it a very Charlton thing, and the flag even more.

Going to be on a lighter material mate, there no way we could have done the present one on anything other then the material it's on at the moment, as it would just fall apart under the weight
