[cite]Posted By: razil[/cite]is it just me or does that shot look really contrived??

(sorry henners didn't mean to criticise the club photographer)

    ;)

yes it was. The photographer said imagine you've just kicked down Razil's fence.

I wouldn't mind but they made me change out of my suit into some clothes the Club Development Manager had left lying around.

[cite]Posted By: leftbehind[/cite]ours is 12,354 offical site says

initially I thought that was quite good but on relection I'm not too sure. Narwich are in their third season since relegation and were pretty awful last year and yet they easily sold their 20k old. I know that ours will creep up but it won't get much above 15k. Goes to show how many of our number is 'hard' support and how much is their for the PL glory days. We should compare ourselves to Sheff Utd as it is their second year down, similar sized club and they had done 18k. A sales push is required methinks.

Norwich always sell out their Season Tickets and play to more or less capacity crowds, regardless of league performance.

I suppose there is nothing else to do in carrot-crunching country?
    Bing will know.

Asparagus crunching season at the moment........:-)

Seriously though, Norwich is not entirely a fair comparison - Norfolk is Norwich-centric. Norwich dominates the landscape and life of every Norfolk citizen, it's probably unique as a city in the UK as far as that is concerned. This really helps from a marketing perspective. In addition to this Norwich have a really good marketing team which helps them focus their efforts. Most people read the Eastern Daily Press (EDP) and it's sister paper Evening News and they have daily coverage of Norwich City plus a weekend version called "The Green Un". Even if people got the screaming ache over Norwich's lack of success since their relegation, (and believe me the fans were extremely vocal - there were concerted fans campaigns to oust Worthington and Grant, including fly posters calling for their heads) they have one main rival - Ipswich and no real reason to just stop going - they wear a kind of collective hair shirt!!

We on the other hand have huge competition on our doorsteps. I think a better comparison would be with Palarse. I wonder what that will turn out to be in August when most ST's will be sold.

    Derby - 21,000 +

Sheff W and Birmingham are reportedly struggling to sell many. Sheff W put prices up around 15% for this year and not been well received.

Despite the hike in prices, QPR have sold around 8,000

As a swansea city supporter our season ticket sales have gone over the 10K mark and thats after a 25% price increase to £399 per adult ticket price. Compared to our nearest and dearest in south Wales whose ticket prices are 50% cheaper than ours. There seems to be a lot of clubs about offering some superbly cheap early bird season ticket prices.

How many season ticket holders did you have last season and how much did a season ticket cost?

I think we need to spend more than 200k on players to encourage ST sales.

    still not got mine
  • got mine yesterday the figure of how many we have sold is about taking into account the amount of investment that has been made into the first team squad during the summer as well as I am sure everyone can remeber the free flowing attacking football we were promised last summer.

I think we need to make a more concerted effort to capture some more Gills fans...always worth a punt.
