Nearly brought a tear to my eye when I saw leonard cohen perform this on sunday.
Just gone looking for that on the Beeb's site then remembered he banned his set from being filmed, sadly. I'm not a great Cohen fan at all...the term 'music to slit your wrists by' was invented with him in mind but would've liked to have hear his version of Hallelujah.
So here we are talking about funerals and i get a phone call from my Mum to tell me my Cousin Carol has just been killed in a car crash. The daughter of my Aunt and Uncle who owned the Victory in dartford. I had 50 Cousins few hours back , but now i have one less.
Really very sorry to hear your sad news GH. Same thing happened to me two years ago on the 23rd July. I still miss my cuz every day. He was an Addick too. My sincere comiserations.
That is tragic GH.
This thread started off with a bit of black humour; I was going to post my 2 Johnny Cash Favs. It would be insensitive to do that now.
<my own preferemce would be Jay Ungar's Ashokan Farewell, plus, heavily influenced by a couple of year's in Sweden, Benny Anderssons Orkestras "Finalpotpurri", a deliciously upbeat collection of folksy refuse-to-let-them-grind-you-doen tunes
