[cite]Posted By: Barn Door Lisbie[/cite]he will certainly score goals in this division imo.
agreed - Bent and Phillips could easily fire them to the title this year
No pace between them.
Pace is the key this year - you watch Mr Varney bang in 15 - 20 this year
He had no pace last year either, but still bagged over 20 goals by feeding off the likes of Gera, Miller and Greening. So it will all depend on the service he gets but at least we know that Marcus won't be passing to him, well not deliberately anyway.
Please don't talk about how many goals he'll get next season - you are only increasing the chances that we will be kicking ourselves for selling the division's top scorer and/or cursing his hat trick against us at the Valley this season....
If he wanted to, he could have been a great player for us last season. But he couldn't be arsed. Lets hope his work ethic remains the same this season and doesn't come back to haunt us.
BTW - How much did we get for Iwelumo? I can't see a final fee mentioned on the BBC site.
Mmmm just thought I would look up our Marcus Career stats seeing as everone considers him a twenty goal a season man al;l of a sudden now he may be leaving, I think looking below that is highly unlikely, if he gets 1 in 3 he would appear to be 'overperforming'. Just because you drop down a level it does not guarantee success!
Brentford 67 (7)
Crystal Palace 28 (5)
Port Vale 23 (1)
Sheffield United 48 (20)
Blackburn Rovers 37 (8)
Ipswich Town 61 (21)
Leicester City (loan) 33 (10)
Everton 55 (7)
Charlton Athletic 46 (4)
Wigan Athletic (loan) 31 (7)

What about Lisbie's goal record with us, wasn't great and then he goes banging them in last season, so mush so that Ipswich are forking out £600K.
One report today said deal was up to £1.5 MILL which would be nice towards balancing the books and add ons stand a better chance of coming from Brum than Cardiff.
>>A tosser he may be but he will certainly score goals in this division imo.<<
I would agree except he has no botle and as proved in the relegation season can't cope with the hard side of football. Given the centre half thugs in this division I can envisage seeing him sitting on the half way line gesturing to McLeish and pointing at his ankle / knee / eye lash throughout the season
looks like it's being held up by the Kapo to Wigan deal fiasco. Brum won't release him until he pays a 60k fine imposed when he returned back late for pre-season training and Kapo is refusing to pay. Can't the Clubs split it 50/50 ? Can't Kapo cough up the poor down and out ? Hell's teeth. If this scuppers the Bent move completely I'll be spitting feathers and gawd knows what Minty and Waggy will do. Typical of Bent really, he's a joke and his move is becoming a joke.
