Currently in Cornwall for the week, first time here and what a fantastic place @Oggy where abouts are you based mate?, we've been staying at a mates cottage in Porthleven right down south, have spent a good few days on the beach at Sennen Cove right by Lands End, I reckon this place has its own micro climate as the weather forecast has been wrong every day - we've had nice sunshine with the odd shower. Went to Falmouth for the day on Sunday and only saw 2 football shirts all day and they were CAFC ones in the town..;o)
Driving back tomorrow but will definitely be back...
Wish I was down there, Cornwall is just one of the best places especially Atlantic coast, magical to spend day on the beach, then retire to one of many excellent seaside bars and soak up the sunset and a few beers followed by a beach BBQ. Used to take family there every year for a week or two, have missed last 2 and need to get back there soon
Nice one Eltham and Curb_it, have a good one. We have just had a week in North Cornwall (Treyarnon Bay), the weather was fantastic although the waves were small for the boogie boarding.
As an exiled "webbed footed local" good to hear there's some Addicks enjoying the homeland. @elthamaddick. If you have time, get down to Kynance Cove at low tide (ask a local), it's gorgeous!
Very Jealous - would like to spend a few days down there this Summer. Went for a few days around New Year - the coastlines are stunning, and some beautiful places to find off the beaten track.
My dad has a house in Looe - up on the hill overlooking the harbour. It's beautiful there and we always find something to do come rain or shine. (Usually rain)
Might do a long weekend in October as I've not been down this year yet
Cornwall has got fantastic landscapes - around the coasts and inland, too. Off-season can be exhilarating in a howling gale, with sea-spray blowing over the cliffs.
Love Cornwall, I know it's a lot more commercialised in recent years, but I still love it, have a great time those that are going!
Agree entirely: in spite of what's happened to Newquay, the county still has a soul. On West Penwith, between St Ives and Land's End, you can walk through waist-high ferns in search of Bronze-Age megaliths and mysterious forgotten holy wells - and you'll be happily solitary, unmolested by coach parties from Wolverhampton. Stuck in London at the moment, I can only envy you. Explore, and enjoy!
Kynance cove is one of my fav places in the world . Off to sennen cove for a week next Friday
First time down there mate, but Sennen Cove beach is something else, kids absolutely loved it - had to get them their own wetsuits!!, they are 6 and 3 and were bodyboarding non stop, fantastic place
Love Cornwall. My sister moved there about 15 years ago so I've spent a fair bit of time down there. I have walked some of the Cornish Coastal Path - you get to see parts you'd never see touring in a car. It's still quite wild away from the regular tourist traps. If it wasn't so far from the Valley I would move there... To be honest I may do when (if) I retire.
I used to go down to Cornwall a lot back in the day. Love the place. Worked in a restaurant called the Gay Gannet in Perranporth one summer season. Over 40 years ago now. I wonder if it's still there? Lived in a caravan. Used to have some right old times down there I can tell you.

I did. No regrets.
It's a different world down here.
Oh, lucky man. I always feel that Cornwall has got real soul - must be the Celtic history. There's something very physical about the landscape: the coastal cliffs, the bits of moorland and green valleys. Gorgeous.
I walked from polperro to Fowey when we were down last. One very hard walk for me but beautiful. Talland Bay going the opposite way from polperro to looe is also stunning.

Driving back tomorrow but will definitely be back...
Even the webbed feet locals have a certain "charm".

How much did you pay for your bodyboards dan?
