If i remember correctly as i was a kid then, Van Den Hawe smashed his car when pissed into next door neighbours wall and car, then tried to reverse and drive off.
Sounds like I'm the same age as Hillsy's Up and some others on here - I played against Matty Rose, David Beckham (beat him 2-1 in an overage game) and was once swapped for Paul Sturgess for a game - he was in the same school year as me, but played for the year above at my junior club.
I ended up playing with Ben Thatcher, Jermaine Wright, Mark Kennedy, Mark Beard, Jeff Pitcher and Neville Gordon for Millwall up until the age of 17, when I chose education over football. Also played with Jamie Victory and some other relatively successful players when playing for London Youth.
Ben Thatcher was the hardest footballer I ever played with - in one game vs Watford he gave Bruce Dyer such a good kicking that he nearly ended up crying. I scored a 40 yard own goal in that game - from the halfway line when goalkeepers could pick up a back pass and my keeper let my knock back through his legs in the last minute - thankfully we were 4-0 up at the time ............. sigh, those were the days, beer, football and girls!
I must of played against you at some stage Superclive, as i played in the same team as virtually all of those, barring Kennedy. Beckham was probably the biggest name i played against. Bet he's jealous of my life now lol
played in the same house team, Caxton, as Andy Townsend at Bexleyheath School. Also beat him at tennis after he challenged me to a game. The cheek of it !!
Was in the same school year with Kevin Horlock(West Ham, Swindon, Man City) at Woolwich Poly.
Played in the same primary school football team with Andy Turner(Tottenham).
Brian Sparrow (Arsenal/Palace) used to live a few doors down the road from myself in Shooters Hill, when i was a young lad. Was kind enough to get me a programme signed by Palace/Charlton players from a game around xmas time 1984.
Younger brother played in midfield with Rio Ferdinand for Eltham Town. 13/14 i think they were at the time.
Richard Carpenter Gillingham, Fulham, Cardiff, Brighton, Welling was a brother of player of my sunday side and use to come down and watch and have a beer now again. Very quiet nice bloke but had a reputation of being tough player.
Played football in Hungary with George Best,Alan Kennedy and Chris Kamara, but don't like to brag about it ! Went to acasino with Gail Porter in the evening..................
Played junior school football with David Hillier (Arsenal during George Graham era, Portsmouth, Bristol City). Also came up against him during secondary school football and we got well and truly thrashed!
Also knew Wayne Burnett (L.Orient, Blackburn) although he was a couple of years younger.....
