22 The Raconteurs - Consolers of The Lonely

Cos the journo's on Uncut just make the list up like most of these top 100/50 things.

    LOL
  • No Bloc Party? Intimacy is an immense album!
New Kings of Leon is awful, by far their worst, how it even made the top 50 of any list is a wonder.
Agree with all the comments about MGMT and Vampire Weekend though
  • I had heard of a whole 7 of those groups/bands but could not name a single song any of them have penned so 'No Comment' !
  • What about the new album by The Damned- first in seven years and easily one of their best.....'So Who's Paranoid?'
  • the tv on the radio is my number one. absolute class. did anyone see them a few weeks ago at shepards bush?
  • probably
  • No Coldplay? Ok they are fairly mainstream/commercial these days but Viva La Vida is an excellent album. Also no Keane and Perfect Symmetry.

  • 'Hoover Dam' by Hugh Cornwell is also a return to form and is easily another entry in my top 10 of the year as is the debut album by Late Of The Pier called 'Fantasty Black Channel'. Another entry would be 'Black Summer' by Teasing Lulu.

2 very good reasons to commit mass homicide if ever I heard them.

Each to their own I suppose - Have got Fleet Foxes and wished that I never bought it - total tosh in my opinion, but others quite clearly like it.

Why, is the Saturday night DJ particularly good then ; - )
  • apparently so!!
  • Been listening to the fleet foxes on and off for about a week now and i am sure the album is only really one big long song with lots of 'ooooohs' and 'aaaahs' in it.

metronomys's 'nights out' is a grower strangely enough.
