so true Nigel. I've been saying all along that performances havn't realy improved that much it just looks as if they have as we started from such a low base point. Average performances are being talked as being good, whilst mediocre is now our average. I really cannot see how there is any justification for Parky to remain in his job.

I wont be joining in any Parky out chants though, I feel the man is fundamentally a decent honest bloke and should be allowed to walk/be booted out with a degree of dignity if possible. With regards to Kins/Chapple, Ive got no idea but would hate to see their association with the club ended on such a downer.
Pardew on the other hand has my full hatred. I beleive that he was the one that left a complete mess and Parky just wasn't good enough to fix it.

There's a serious point about Lennie - there's no way I'd want to cross that man. For the past few years we've had players who've happily stuck two fingers up at the management (maybe starting with Curbs' relationship with Danny Murphy) so now we're in a more basic division, maybe we need a bit more of "I'm the boss" relationship between management and players, to put it mildly.

But doesn't that sum up the whole, bloody season? Scarred? Scared, more like. It was the same under Pardew, but that was Parkinson's "experienced" team out against Cardiff. I wasn't there, so I don't know what happened, but he needs to take some responsibility for the hesitancy, the lack of guile, the "going into panic mode" that has been all to familiar in recent months. Managers are there to be *in charge*. He can only blame his players for so much. I could have said this about any number of matches in recent weeks, but seeing his quotes without having seen the match (normally I'd avoid press coverage) has got my goat up and put things into focus.
I wouldn't want to be Messrs Murray or Chappel right now.
Must say I have always supported Parky and genuinely thought he would turn it round but the latest capitulation has changed my mind. It was amatuerish at best and when all 10k or so supporters could see that we defended far too deep in the last ten minutes and invited Cardiff to score then so should they. He and the others have to go.

So if the results are still dire, what about the much vaunted 'improvement' in performances? Well, ZZ and Racon have returned from injury and Shelvey is beginning to realise all that abundant promise. Frankly, that would have led to an improvement even if we'd made the training ground cat manager.

They are clearly not up to the job in The Championship, and there is no evidence to show they will do any better in League 1.
If last minute give-aways are your bag, then keep 'em.
Otherwise, a very large broom is needed and get some professionalism back into the club on the First Team coaching staff.
I had hoped that Kinsella would be a future Charlton manager, but no longer, and that saddens me.

Totally agree with this. "Parky, you're a c*nt" chants are unfair and unwarranted in my opinion. He has none of the arrogance and uncredited flamboyance of Pardew, he is a decent guy and is trying his hardest. Yes - it's not good enough at the moment and yes, i'm erring on the side of him going but don't start personally abusing him.

The only person who was in panic mode was pardky. we were 2-0 up and he took of 2 attacking players to replace them with 2 defending players that left us with five central midfielders and kandol so far back you might as well of called it a 4-6-0 formation.
I always used to say you need some stabilty, but the current set-up just isn't working, apply whatever criteria you like. Last night was just another action replay of what we've seen too many times before - a good position in a game blown by paralysing negativity. This team currently couldn't beat an egg.

The man couldn't even confirm whether he would like to stay at the club, he needs to do the right thing and f**k off. Not sure about Kins though, however much I like him I think he also needs to go. Only god knows who we r going to be able to afford.
I was in the keep Parky, "who else we gonna get anyway", side until last night. No tactical nouse whatsover in either yesterdays game or Saturdays. I think the whole ground saw last night the need to keep a player up top to hassell and try and retain possession when the ball was cleared, rather than allowing a ten minute salvo on our goal.
Not sure who we can get next year to replace him, and its NOT Kinsella or Chris Powell or any other sentimental choice. It has to be an outsider who can kick the players into shape. Colin Calderwood?

Lets face it, there is no footballing reason to keep Parkinson. His results have been dire. As someone posted above, it should be about the best man for the job, not the cheapest. We went down that route before and look where it has got us.

Dear oh dear Mr Parkinson really did do something dreadful yesterday but according to most we weathered a lot of attacks for 81 minutes and then went to pot!
