    Stewed cheese (rarebit)

Is it only called Stewed Cheese in Simpsons on Cornhill? Never heard that term anywhere else.
Sounds like we've frequented the same establishments.

Simpsons, famed for the most inside job arson attacks in the City......and quite possibly the smallest bar I've ever been in. Love the place.

The other day i had Cheese on toast, i fried some mushrooms in some garlic and parsley butter i make and store in the freezer, when they were cooked i threw in some halves of cherry tomatoes to soak up the butter, then whacked that on top of the cheese which was on the toast then under the grill, bit of salt on the mushroom and toms, then black pepper (freshly ground of course) over the top of the finished article. Yum scrum.

    And a nice chianti?
  • Kaviar. I'm not talking the expensive posh Russian stuff but the Swedish version which comes in a blue tube. We have a lot of Swedish guests who bring it with them that don't take it home so they give it to me or leave it in the fridge. Very salty but I like it.

You can't beat a whole mill. Those half mills are a huge disappointment.

  • First you have Mashed avocado, then a bed of spinach and rocket leaves, then sliced tomato with a fried egg on top, grind salt and pepper on it, lightly drizzled in organic olive oil, then sprinkled with Tabasco sauce. Mix goats cheese with the avocado if you wish. Luvly jubly!
  • Number one for me is butter and golden syrup. Heavenly...
  • Lard,lard and more lard.
