Big Brother is back!

Am I the only person in the world who thinks this program is utter shit! Fortunately I have two televisions in my house so I won't need to ever see more than 2 seconds of this tripe. Why is it so popular? And why do normally intelligent women find it so enthralling?

Rant over.

Off to bed now so I can get up early and register one of the few votes for Mr Brown!

  • At a guess, i'd say you weren't the only one.
  • I can hardly contain my apathy!
  • Cannot stand it also, watched a total of 5 minutes since it started. I cannot get excited about people making tea, unless there making me one!!!

I always watch the first night, just for the freak show, then I lose interest and dont watch again, bit like Britains got talent and X Fctor, love the auditions, then dont watch the serious stuff.
  • The most boring thing about big brother are the people who spend 3 months every year moaning about big brother.

No, I do too. Ghastly channel 4 shite.
  • When a new one comes into the house they all start screaming and jumping up and down. Why? It's been on for 10 years, it can't be a shock that there's about 14 attention whores in a house with cameras. But it seems to come as a massive shock to them. Do they do this all in real life, too?

Then you must find life, and this forum in particular, very boring.
  • Never seen it, Never will.

(This is the last time I'll even look at this thread.....)
  • No. I just find it boring that people (ie you) moan every year about big brother. How that has any reflection on this forum or my life I have no idea. Just change the channel and let those people who enjoy it, enjoy it!

I am just the opposite - dont watch the auditions, cant be bothered listening to sob stories or watching the obviously crap singers who 'really believe' they have got what it takes, but enjoy it once the live programmes start.

I would say 90% of the posts on this forum are people ranting and moaning about something and often about the same things every few months. So I assumed you would find all of these posts boring as well.

As I said I never watch it but the newspapers, magazines, radio news, TV news are full of it for 3 or 4 months. And worst of all you can't travel on public transport without hearing conversations between inarticulate girls shouting down their phones in that strange new language they all speak, 'init....like....init....like' about the latest episode. It iritates the hell out of me and has done ever since it started. Last night I heard it was starting again in a few days so I decided to moan about it on here because I had no one else to vent my frustration on. A good use of this forum and I felt better for it.

If that bores you, or more to the point, if it bores you to the extent you feel you need to comment on it, tough shit!

If everyone on here thought they should not post on a particular topic because it might bore someone the whole forum would become very boring indeed!
  • I LOVE IT!!! Cannot wait till they all go in tonight. I will then be boring the pants of people on the train by talking about it with my friends, who all love it too. I'm in agreement with blackheathaddick that the most boring thing is everyone else moaning about it ;-)

Fair enough! You have evey right to talk about it on the trains and I have every right to be bored by you talking about it. Conversely, I have every right to moan about it on here and you have every right to be bored by my moaning about it.

I hope you enjoy it. And I hope that there will be times when you start threads on here to discuss the people and the incidents that happen on the program. I won't read them and I certainly won't post anything on those threads that suggests you should not be posting this stuff because I find it boring.

By the way, I don't know what ';-)' means. I know it means something but I am too old to know what.
  • Prole fodder TV designed to keep the plebs happy and to sell tabloid newspapers.
  • My daughters haven't watched it for a few years now so it will pass me by. Thankfully!
  • I thought this was a thread about the 50th anniversary of the book being published and its contribution to the English language.

Exactly why I ignore cricket threads on here as the whole thing sends me to sleep!!

Nineteen Eighty-Four was published 60 years ago, not 50....
