Parblag is the new Malcolm Allison. Only without the charm, charisma, footballing nous and the fedora...which really only leaves the mouth, the cigar and the sheepskin coat.
Saints fan, why are you getting so defensive about someone who hasn't even started yet?
We have every right to be bitter-he was a joke from start to finish, signing average players by the bucketload, constantly chopping and changing the team and never taking responsibility for the ever increasing mess we were getting ourselves into. And to compound it, when he left (shortly after pocketing a £1m bonus) he said that "we were a club in decline" when he took over.
He may go to Saints and do well, but with all that money he might have to spend, I'd expect you to be mid table with a squad of about 50 players by the end of the season. Or, given that your new owner has shown his cards by sacking Wotte, Pards may be gone by Christmas with another healthy pay off.
Pardew is hated by us even more than Dowie, that should tell Saints fans just how bad 'The Tea Lady' really is, on so many levels - and we are meek mild mannered Charlton fans. Arrogant, talentless fuckwit springs to mind.
For his part, Parky then took Charlton down into League one after being left bottom by Pardew.
not defending pardew but pardew left us 3rd bottom a couple of points from safety his sidekick/assistant or whatevere was for that reign of pardews then came in and took us down bottom and 12/13 points from safety
Could have been even worse thoyugh if he had stayed.

I don't see that even Pardew can use that excuse.
I think he may use the Zabeel episode as uncertainty in the club, which I suppose if he had told the playhers that he had lined up six players to replace them then he would be right.

Good point, Kap. I didn't take account of the failed Zabeel attempt.
But on the back of that he taook players aside, maybe told them they were shit and they'll be replaced - then the takeover fails, there's no money and no replacements, he's got a devil of job to win back the trust of players.
I think the thing that we'll notice this year that's different from last, is fitness. Pardew spent too much time letting them "train" by having kick abouts. Probably makes him popular with the players, but it's not the right way to run a professional sports team. He has the basics to be a good manager, but is questionable in the transfer market. I can't quite get the venom up about him that others (who paradoxically defended him week in week out, despite some pitiful displays), because basically he was the fans' choice: most deny it all now, obviously, but he was very much our man.
he never loses though does he ? got wedged out off WHU ,f**ked us up and then called in the 10 day payment rule for more wedge off us and he will do the same with The Saints. He is a mugger and a con man.
Stu, whilst i understand your point, there is a big difference between starting a new season and being saddled with a demoralised team, half way through the season, in the bottom quarter, with no decent players interested in joining you. It was a bit like taking over the captaincy of the Titanic, only a quarter of the ship was down but a change in captaincy was never going to halt the total submerging.
There are those implying that Pardew was better than Parkinson, but to be honest we were well on the way to where we ended up when we lost 5-2 at home to Sheff U. Gven the balls up the board has made of the summer and the lack of alternative then we might as well give Parkinson a chance.

I hope you're right McLovin. I remember at the start of last season Pardew was claiming how much fitter we were than the year before. Looking back at it, it was pretty obvious at the first game that this wasn't the case as Swansea ran rings round us (although I don't want to take anything away from Swansea, they played some cracking football last year).
I am happy for you and your club to have pardew you deserve eachother
Why is that then?
Another thing I have seen on this forum is that a number of people hate Southampton aswell. Why is this? Surely not because of what happened down St Marys last season. . . .

Maybe something to do with a bunch of scum bags that follow your club attacking a pub full of children, just a guess.

I don't like cowards or bullies mate and your support has displayed those characteristics more than a couple of times. And had their legs slapped too.
I love Paulbaconsarnie's idea of selling Christensen to Southampton!
Perhaps he'll offer us a good price for Fleetwood, Dickson, McLeod and Gray, too. The way Pardew systematically likes to rewrite history he's probably already forgotten how poor they all turned out to be ...

Can't say I have ever heard about our fans attacking a pub full of children. Where was this? Southampton or London?
Well, when I came to The Vally a few season's ago when we drew 1-1 there were a number of idiots who supported Charlton who were throwing bottles and coins at us as we waited for our train. All clubs have scum fans and we do have our fair bit, as do you.

And, as events have proved, he couldn't.
So who has your billionaire owner signed then?
Quite simply - No he isn't.
No-one
He is equally good.
I'd have to disagree, Parkinsons managerial record with us is far worse than Pardews. The fact that are both useless really doesnt help though.
We'll see.
How many players did he bring in last season then?
At Charlton, we've been Pard-ed.
Don't you think he might also Pard You ......?

Yes, but Pardew had longer to screw things up!

That is a good point . I am expecting a much more competitive edge to the team , under Parky this term.
Pardew thought he could breeze out of the championship with open football. If he takes that approach in Div 1 with S'ton they will be in big trouble.
Liberal Club, Charlton, London.
I didn't just hear about it, I was there.
