I'm amazed that so many people haven't seen the Godfather - considering its age and the frequency with which it's been on TV plus it's been out on DVD for years. Parts I & II are the two of the best films ever. part III is missable, but if you've seen the other two films then it makes sense, but should have been made a lot earlier than it was when maybe some more of the original cast were around. If you get the DVD then you get Francis Ford Coppola talking through the film as an extra which is interesting. In Part I he apparently came close to getting the sack as director half way through the shoot when his studio weren't happy with some of the early results.
Me...I haven't seen ET or most of the Star Wars films - I've seen the original three (or was it four??) but I haven't bothered with the newer films. I haven't seen any of the Harry Potter films either, but then I haven't read any of the books so the whole Harry Potter thing has passed me by.
Yep me neither, not seen Star wars, or any godfather, ferris bueller, Alien films (that kind of bullshit dont do it for me, my lil bro used to watch one every day when he was little!)
Seriously what does do it for you? The godfather is just great story telling so Id say you'd be surprised if you sat down to look at it. I agree that the others are more selective but Starwars defined a whole generation of people which why I'm surprised that so many haven't seen it. As for being bullshit I dont think you can lob alien's or the original star wars in with others of their genre, they are simply unique and will live on forever because they're so foooking good.
[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]Never seen harry potter or lord of the rings films - and have no intention of doing so either!
You know what I never thought I would like the Lord of the Rings as it's not really my bag but I was very very impressed and would recommend them to anyone.
This thread has made me decide to watch the godfather now! Since I've got a bit of insomnia on the go. I'm surprised people haven't seen starwars. When I was a kid that was pretty much unavoidable. I've never seen any of the Rocky films. Perhaps not high art but I reckon I'm on my own there
Never seen any Star Wars, Harry potter, etc, only seen about 20 films in my life, find them all very boring, of the 20 I seen slept through the majority. Apparently I have got a very low threshold of boredom, surprising really as I am a Charlton supporter :-)
Looking at Empire magazine's top 40 the ones I have not seen: Heat, Andrei Rublev, Gone with the Wind, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, 2001, A Space Odessy, Once Upon a Time in the West, Raging Bull, Fight Club and Jaws. Not a perfect list to go by - no Schindlers List ( which I also have not seen ) - and no animation, Evil Dead 2 is number 49, which says it all really... But it's as good as any subjective list I guess?
Never seen the Godfather films, Scarface, Casino, Reservoir Dogs, any Rocky film, Groundhog Day, none of the Superman instalments, Dirty Dancing. Quite a few revered films if I'm totally honest.
Have seen Harold and Kumar Get The Munchies though.

Never seen GWTW.
I've never seen Blade Runner or The Great Escape.

Mine would probably be Apolocalpse Now.
I also try to avoid anything with Jim Carey in it - although I did like the Truman Show.
Haven't seen - Star Wars, ET, Scarface, plus a load of sequals of famous original films.
Really don't watch that many.
If you only watch films with helicopters and police car chases, you might be disappointed - everybody else, definitely a film you must see.
