I had the honour of being in the boardroom, as part of the VIP season ticket packet, on the wonderful day in May that saw us pick up the trophy under CP. I plucked up the courage to speak to many of the great and the good that day, well CP, Varney, Slater, Karl Howman and CP. Paul was there but I never got to talk to him, funny how things turn out.

You spoke to Chris Powell twice?
    Maybe he meant Chris Parkes.

bumped into him at Chislehurst station a few years back, he was obviously in a hurry but stiil had time to sign an autograph and have a quick chat.

Weren't him and Paul Walsh sold to Luton at virtually the same time?

Gomez, Shelvey, Walsh and Elliott has been the 4 best teenagers we have had over the last 40 years. All 4 of them left while still in their teens. Let's hope their is mileage in this rumour about Paul Elliott. Bright feller.
    Bowyer ?

    Parker
I think Scott Parker may of been 20 and just back from Norwich on loan when he turned into our best midfielders over the following 2 years.

Heard very mixed things about him as a person, at both extremes of the spectrum. Wasn't jumping for joy when I heard this news to be honest.

Pail Elliott always makes me laugh. Uses very long complicated words , normally out of context. However, if he’s involved it suggests Varney might be as well.

My mate and his missus rented his place in Blackheath a while back.

Not sure if I can shoehorn any kind of insight into his possible appointment from that info though.

Didn’t he threaten Rufus using the ‘N’ word after losing money in his ‘investment’ scheme. ?

A nice guy with Charlton in his blood - that's obviously a big plus. The Rufus debacle is a question mark over his business acumen and gullibility however.

At the very least we'll know he'll be doing his utmost for the benefit of the club.

Debacle, acumen and gullibility in one sentence. Do you live in Keston Park?

Parker? He was a more than useful teenager, wasn't he?

    Konchesky?
  • Very hard to judge our teenagers these days since we tend to sell them after about 25 games.

Lookman, for example, scored some fantastic goals and could - in the right setting - have taken us all the way to the PL in the same way Saha and Bolasie did for Palace.

    Heartbreaking.

Getting back on Topic (sorry guys) ... If Paul Elliott is Chairman, will we have a CEO?

    I assume so.

I wonder if they have already earmarked someone for the role given they've already got a chairman and manager lined up, it seems.
