Featuring the delightful 'underneath my umbrella'
They were so close to making my top three
1) I and Love and You - Avett Brothers
2) Kings and Queens - Jamie T
3) Islands Disappear - Said The Whale
Thanks. Bookmarked to download. cheers
This may be the first year in my adult life I've not actually bought an album.
Where's my flask and blanket?
Alex, you now qualify for an ST in the East Stand.
;o)
2. Humbug - Arctic Monkeys
3. Relapse - Eminem
god help the girl
leonard cohen live in london
Sigh no more - Mumford and Sons
and cant quite decide on my other fav yet, more research needed...
2. Kings and Queens - Jamie T
3. Nonsense in the dark - Flithy Dukes
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz
Airborne Toxic Event - same title
(Not bad for an old goat)
Listening now to 'Hiding neath my umbrella.' Certainly a time and place for that. Not sure about other songs on this album though.
I don't get all the fuss about Artic Monkeys either - it sounds very unoriginal.
Surprised that no-one's mentionned The Temper Trap yet - excellent stuff when building up to a match with my Vets team!
Cant believe I missed Mumford and Sons! You should check out latest Avett Brothers or Langhorne Slims latest if you like them!
The epitome of a one track album
2. Lungs - Florence and the Machine
3. Kings and Queens - Jamie T
For 2010, look out for a band from Brooklyn called 'The Drums', they're an exciting talent. I think 'Delphic' are going to be making waves as well
Black Crowes - Before the Frost/Until the Freeze
Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3 - Goodnight Oslo
White Denim - Fits
1. White Lies - To Lose My Life (excellent!)
2. It's Blitz - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3. Kings and Queens - Jamie T
Goldhawks sound like a good band for next year.
Nice one, have downloaded music for both of them now!
Nile - Those Whom the Gods Detest
Paradise Lost - Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's a Blitz
Kings of Leon - Only by the Night
White Lies would be my fourth choice after Killers, YYYs and Airborne Toxic Event. YYYs are excellent - and, indeed, seeing them tonight in Bournemouth and in Osaka in January!
White Lies - whatever it's called
The Prodigy - Invaders must die
Shout to the Twangs new one too, jewellery quarter. Bit less geezerish than the first one but more songy. Not quite as good as the first one but a good stab at a difficult second album
