    LIDDLE IN MIDDLE OF RIDDLE

This newspaper apologises for the incomplete report of the Charlton Athletic v. Millwall game in today's Sport Section which is due to our reporter (and
part time columnist) Mr.Rod Liddle becoming tired and emotional during the match. Mr,Liddle was taken ill soon after Athletic's second goal and was
not present to see Deon Burton complete his hat-trick. Neither did he witness the ensuing fracas which led to two Millwall players being sent off in the
91st minute for fighting (each other) following the up-ending of Charlton's Bailey as he made a sensational run into the box. Bailey took the penalty kick
himself to complete a 4-0 victory.

Mr. Liddle blamed pressure of work for his absence and said, "It's not easy being Rod Liddle you know, but it was nice to hear the Charlton fans chant
my name when I fell down the steps and it shows the friendliness between the two clubs." Mr.Liddle also missed the arson attempts in the Jimmy
Seed Stand and the near destruction of Charlton station after the game.

    CHARLTON CAN'T HACKETT!

Milwall scraped a 1-0 victory last night, thanks to a second half tap-in from midfield supremo Chris Hackett. The away side were buoyed both by a vociferous away support, and the absence of most of the home crowd. Thousands of terrified Addick's fans stayed away after being cowed by the renowned Millwall 'fear factor', and whilst they twitched their curtains at home, their side slumped to a shock home defeat. After the game, one of the fearsome Millwall ultras remarked how he'd even missed school that day to carefully rehearse his 'pwoper nawghty' bravado in front of the mirror.

    LION TAMER

Super-sub Tamer Tuna sprung from the Addicks bench to grab all 3 points in a pulsating London derby. After Burton put the Addicks ahead early on, Millwall looked to have snatched an undeserved point with minutes on the clock after Kelly Youga's spectacular overhead kick into his own net. But in the dying seconds, Tuna leapt like a salmon to meet Nicky Bailey's last gasp free-kick and powered a header into the top corner.

A spokesperson said " we are unhappy that a certain number of charlton fans were flouting the rules by drinkins out of flasks and then provoked us by getting mixed up about our familys in a song so we decided to burn the stand attack the police and stewards".

OLD BAILEY STUNNER FOR MILLWALL FANS
Racon sandwich and Spring roll gifts points to Charlton

Nicky Bailey thought his 90th minute penalty miss was going to be costly, until Matt Spring calmly rolled the rebound back for him to slot home the winner.

The penalty was given despite furious protests from the visitors, after Thierry Racon was squeezed to the ground by two Millwall defenders.

Parky said afterwards, "my boys were hungrier and we deserved the win, but no doubt their defenders will be in the dock over the goal"
