Bad Words
I really enjoyed Bad Words. A good performance from lead actor and Director Jason Bateman and an especially good showing from child actor Rohan Chand who steals the show. Funny as well as offensively charming.

This is documentary rather than a movie but it's the best thing I've seen this year. If you've any curiosity as to what's going on in the middle east it's an incredible watch. Some of the footage is pretty strong.

Devil's Knot
If you have ever seen the amazing documentaries Paradise Lost and West of Memphis then this film is not really worth seeing. Because those documentaries are so real and quite frankly breath taking you are just going to be left cold by Devils Knot.
I thought Colin Forth was miscast and the whole film was a major let down.
Skip this and watch the two other films.

Computer Chess
Having not read up about Computer Chess It took me a full 20 minutes until i realised it was a spoof and not a documentary. It really does look authentically old. Although this is hardly going to send your pulses racing it's strangely interesting none the less.

A Single Shot
A Single Shot stars three of my favorite actors. Sam Rockwell , Jason Isaacs and William H Macy , so i'm quite biased towards this film. I found it intriguing , atmospheric and highly watchable but i'm aware the critics were not so generous with their views when it was released last year but i disagree with them.
I liked it.

Yeah I turned to my mate at Godzilla and told him how surprisingly boring a giant monster movie could be. The pacing was awful IMO. I don't mind the tease, but it was more than just a slow build up. It got positively boring to watch him swim for a few hours.0

Feeling a bit chuffed today, one of my short films just won first prize at a festival in Italy, hopefully it means the day will end well at Pride Park.1

Not a latest but watched The Master over the weekend with Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Glued to it for the duration but felt underwhelmed when the credits rolled. Maybe I missed the point or the film was too clever for me but felt the links between the main subject matters was a little bit ambiguous.0

inbetweeners movie 2
There have been many bad comedy sequels over the years but i'm struggling to think of one as disappointing as inbetweeners movie 2. I think i laughed twice in the entire 90 minutes. This is a bad case of cashing in before the cast reaches middle age. Whoever wrote this deserves to be shot.

The Stag
We haven't exactly be starved of stag movies over recent years but this one is different. This does not rely on vulgarity or stereotypical stag jokes but on gentle humour and really good comic acting.
Great performances from Andrew Scott and especially from Peter McDonald ( The Machine ).
Reminds me a lot of Four Weddings.

Not sure if this anyone has already mentioned this film but I bought and watched 'Wasteland' on iTunes (SD Version was £4.99) last night. Very good and moving entertainment. Interesting point as to whether 'Vic' had helped his models or not - I remain fascinated but in two minds.
