I manage a Sheltered Housing scheme for the elderly. We have regular monthly functions and I booked a singer/guitarist for January who's playing right now.

Oh my God he's sh*t!

He's got to have the worse singing voice we've ever heard here. The residents are giving me daggers and they've got to pay £100 for the privilige. I might just pay him off at the interval!

Very good voice and good song selection. In all, highly recommended.

Good idea there Walshy. I reckon The Who, Kasabian, The Killers and The Ramones will go down well with the elderly... :o)

All that's left for the second half are the tone deaf ones and I think they've turned their hearing aids off plus a few stragglers that haven't finished eating the buffet. I've had ear ache all evening and I'm gonna get lots more tomorrow!

Oh no he's just started singing Elvis's 'Hound dog' - sounds more like a Hound Dog!

If your'e serious, give me a whisper, I'm booking acts all the time (we have 8 schemes). It's surprising how lucrative the oldies circuit is. There are singers doing a gig in the afternoon and another one early evening at £100 a pop, 5 days equals a very nice grand a week!
