[cite]Posted By: cafcdan18[/cite]Germany are the most impressive side seen so far, however they were playing against a poor team and we are yet to see Holland, Spain, Brazil. Still not sure if Germany are that good and doubt whether they will get past the quarters.
Disagree. I think Australia are decent enough - we will see in their next game (although without Cahill).
I think (on that evidence) that they will give the best teams a very good game. Hopefully though they will overdo the group stage and run out of steam.
[cite]Posted By: Folev the red[/cite]Interesting to see that cacau came on and scored despite the fact he is unexperienced at international level. Now why couldn't england try the same with bent?
Podolski has scored 39 goals ever in the Bundesliga. Someone said the German starting front two had a combined 5 goals in the last season.
My first time watching it and this James Corden thing is sh!t already. Oh, they've rolled out Boris Becker now, who will they get for Germany's future games?

[cite]Posted By: ken from bexley[/cite]Typical bloody Germans.... get to a tournament and look like a decent team, passing is crisp and look to have another gear!
Did they not look half decent in qualification then? Won 8, drew 2, lost 0.
Got to the final of Euro 2008.
3rd in 2006.
Hardly a shock performance. Although the reactions of Chiles and Corden are that they expected Germany to be useless.
Just commentating that Germany were supposed to be not one of the favourites, but always seem to raise there game in the tournaments as you have proved!..... The worrying thing is that they normally get better in the later stages ( like Brazil)
I am not saying they are going to win it, but if we do qualify, odds on we will play this lot, and that is gonna be a whole tougher than Australia. The commentator did state the stat for quater finals in all competitions it seemed ' daunting'.... They seem to do there talking on the pitch. .....not in the sun, a point that the England lad's could perhaps reflect on!
Germany were the first team who looked like they can take this tournement by the scruff of the neck and win it. England no hope of winning this tournement if the Germans carry on in their usual machine like way.
[cite]Posted By: JT[/cite]Personally think people are going over the top a bit with Germany's performance. Australia were terrible.
Agreed but as they are the first team this WC to make a real mark (Argentina were unbelivably disappointing and as for France well England diddnt live up to expectation either surprise surpise) they will be very over rated now. But if you know anything about football you will know the the Germans are a machine when it comes to tournements yes Aussies were poor but then its a country that has only been playing football at a high level for a handful of the time the Germans have. Yes Aussies are good but there are 3 teams who always do well in WC's and can always be expected to make an impact Brazil, Italy and Germany so i am not surprised to be honest.
Cahill's red card was a joke hardley even a yellow was it.
Ref was nearly perfect in the game. It looks a definitely red when you get the best angle of the challenge, he was no where near the ball and could have broken the German's ankle.

Can't agree with that, there was minimal contact and it was a yellow at best.
Last night in the Hol-Den game the Dutch midfielder De Jong made a couple of challenge that were studs up and far worse than Cahill's and he got a single booking.

Don't forget Italy...

what a quality stadium as well !
But this game was spoilt a little by the first useless Ref spotted at the WC2010.
Whats the betting ENGLAND get the joke of a Ref from this game next????
If we are EVER to win the pot then we have to smash teams like the Germans let alone the so called "smaller" teams.

39 international goals.
39 goals in the Bundesliga (so not counting the time he was in the German second tier with Koln.
