Just got back from the game, 0-0 not the greatest game in the world but hey. I really hope the Wings survive, it's a great club that deserve to survive and a blast back to the old days of Football before money became the be all and end all.
According to the local press, the Welling debt to HMRC is £90,000, they have paid £30,000 to them already and will be paying a further £15,000 in the next couple of days which is half of what they owe.
Fingers crossed they can sort something in relation to the remaining £45,000 they currently owe. For those who are interested, the Wings drew 2-2 with Dover last night.
Just to say Welling are playing league leaders Chelmsford tomorrow (KO 7.45pm) at PVR.
On Saturday, Welling had a good win away at Havant who were the bookies pre-season favourites to win the league and a further three points would be welcome!
If you are free tomorrow night, why not pop along to PVR and give your support to the Wings!
This may be Welling's last ever game, Let's hope not!
Ben Billings! Didn't realise he signed for Welling. He was in my year at school.
Knew he was in football but last I saw he was playing for one of the smaller Eastbourne teams (not Borough). Didn't expect him to play at Welling's level.
Welling beat the leaders Chelmsford tonight and move up to 4th. Be good if they can have a decent season and get the crowds back.
Bromley are top though with the only 100% record.
In other news i see Charlie Sheringham is now at Dartford. He must play for a different club every season!
Bromley Vs Welling on Saturday. 1st against 4th. Should be a healthy crowd. Bromley looked really good tonight. Should've won by more than just the one goal.
I was at PVR last night, it says in the programme that the case with HMRC due for today may be adjurned (sp?) as long as Welling are able to keep to a repayment plan which may already be in place.
A further £8,000 has been raised in addition to the £45,000 already paid to HMRC, this has mainly come from kit sponsorship - nice to see CL in the programme too.
Great result last night, 3-2 the winner coming in the 4th minute of injury time and owing a huge thanks to the Chelmsford keeper who dropped the ball in front of the Welling striker leaving an empty net!

I was there too last night. Great game in the 2nd half had to laugh at their keeper who had given it to the welling fans when Chelmsford scored their 2nd.
Was suprised that they hadn't done more to highlight their plight. I expected to at least see collection buckets.

Scoham!! Reveal your self mate. Ben is going out with my sister! Living at mine at the moment. Whoooo are yaa!!
Not sure he'd know or remember who I am. Can't even remember if I even spoke to him, only really knew who he was.
Watch the Chelmsford goalkeeper on the last goal, funniest thing ive see for ages. 93rd min winner too. . . . good to see so many Charlton faces last night.
I do fell sorry for welling as I wouldn't like it to happen to any club but don't you think you should be going to huddersfield to cheer on our club in one of our biggest games this season because if we don't get out of this league soon it won't only be welling in dire straights.

Thanks, very kind gesture for you to pay for my ticket, travel costs and food/drink while I'm there - top man.

Wow thanks fatrob. How do i get in touch to arrange travel?
[cite]Posted By: WestStandCookie[/cite]Apparently, Welling have been given 14 weeks to pay HMRC another £63,000.
I could imagine that will be pretty difficult.
It said in the News Hopper report:
"The Wings initially owed the taxman £90,000 but had already paid off around half of that figure ahead of today’s hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice. "

So around £45k to pay in 14 weeks ......?
See, that's what I thought but according to the Welling fans forum the figure quoted is £63,000?

I use to go to alot of games when i could not afford Charlton away.
I hope things get sorted for them

I believe many of us on this board have got a soft spot for the Wings, so please keep any info coming.
And perhaps those people on here, could keep the support for Welling going in any way they feel they can.

Good luck Wings, hope you pull through.

I wish the Wings luck, though. Can't Palace with their new wealth, buy a player from them for £50k.....?
;o)
Problem they have got is, they need to pay the initial £63,000 but then need to keep up for the rest of the season.
Perhaps we could send an XI down there as a reserve game - might get 800 - 900 in attendance. £7000.00 or £8000.00 in the pot.

Great News!
