I gather that 2nd Generation Apple TVs are very easy to hack, giving you access to all sorts of TV. According to the mac specialist in Currys, at least! Mine is gathering dust somewhere, might put it on eBay.

EDIT: Just saw Reading Addick's post. Now I'm definitely dusting it off...

Just get a dodgy sky card for fifty quid mate.
All the channels free - sport, films etc.
Didn't think such a thing existed any more

    You're an electrician aren't you?
According to some rumours but my landlord will not allow me to put a new point in the room.
  • Haha yeah, don't really need that. Happy to sell the Apple though!

Do they sell those cards in Tesco or Asda?
  • Plumped for the Roku 3 in the end. Was better user interface than the apple tv and loads more on it. When the weather is as crap as it has been it's a god send for the kids .
  • Has anyone watched any of the Asimov Foundation adaptation now running on Apple TV plus?
  • I love Asimov but for some reason I hadn't realised that show was one of his! Will defo watch it. Have you seen it? Is it any good!?
  • Jury is out at moment, visuals are pretty impressive so far. A while since I read the books.
  • Had this for a few months now, really enjoying it!
Blackbird, Bad Sisters, Shrinking, Echo3. Any others i may have missed?
  • Slow Horses is very good

Haven't seen it mentioned on here, apologies if it has, but been watching 'Severance' recently, it's very very good. Highly recommend if you are looking for something to watch - I won't say too much but it's a really interesting concept.
  • Oh yeah Severance was good as well!
  • Does Apple TV get you paramount+ or whatever it is you need to watch Yellowstone .

  • I have a weird problem and can’t find out what’s wrong and need the collected wisdom of CLifers

I stream Netflix and Amazon Prime to my TV via my AppleTV box.
A couple of weeks ago Netflix, for some reason, decided to stop working on my AppleTV. Amazon Prime works dine with no problems. My problem with Netflix is that I van no longer log in on my AppleTV. It tells me my e-mail address or my password are not linked to a Netflix account, even though I can log in on my iPad and iPhone and watch without any problems.

I called the Netflix helpline and they tell me that it must be a problem with my AppleTV. So I changed out my AppleTV for a replacement one only for the problem to reoccur.

I’ve tried resetting/changing passwords, software, etc. all to no avail.

Help, I don’t know what to do!

Are all of your Netflix access points (TV, iPad, Apple TV box) using the same email address and does anybody else in your family have your log in details? All of the services are now tracking log ins I believe, number of devices and locations to try to ensure that users are adhering by terms of conditions of the subscription they have chosen. Was more relaxed initially, but I have to do 2-step authentication to even buy a movie on Apple nowadays. May not be related, but just a thought.
  • While on here, have got to say that this service is more premium output quality than anything else available atm. Disney+ close run second for me, but Apple are really going too drawer and have a great mix of comedy, drama etc. Only problem is I don’t have enough time to watch it all.

Yes, all my devices use the same e-mail address and password. Our subscription is for 3 devices and my wife and I were usually logged in on our AppleTV and iPad each.
