Well, we already have charlton Ath community fc in the kent league.
Would be interesting to know if there's a dip in attendances at fc when man utd and fc are both at home on a saturday....... Seems like a gimmick team to me as there's always a contingent of "fans" at old trafford with their yellow/green scarf's in protest.
[cite]Posted By: tony dunne[/cite]Just to clear up the Argentina chant its Margentina , after Karl Marginson the manager. Top night was not able to get ticket as they sold out in a day. Have been to about 20 games since inception and being an old c..t its just like the old days i.e. 70s. Footballs gone for me even though i go to Mufc away games when i get tickets.
Regarding the prospect of the unlikely event of Fc playing MUFC away , the general concensus of opinion is that no one would go. If fact i dont think we would ask for any tickets. In 2007 the league moved our fixture against Curzon Ashton away and instead of attracting a crowd of 3000 plus about a dozen Fc fans turned up. (Unlike ESPN who asked both Rochdale and Fc if it was ok to move the game unlike the Curzon game which was moved without consultation) For those who are interested the decision to agree to move the Rochdale game are given below
[quote][cite]Posted By: The Organiser[/cite]The Argentina song was not a bloody did at United, it's a dig at England. FC Uniteds followers are basically United followers.
Everyone knows that Uniteds support is the most anti-England, in England. A lot of their songs are anti-England. You very very rarely see a St Geroge flag at a United away game.
They have a big Irish element within thier support and they seem to dictate what happens.[/quote]
Yep and if Brighton were in their new ground there would've been a load of bother.

That does smack a bit of: 'All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.'
Although I started this thread with praise of FC United, I must say that my opinion of them has diminished when one of their members states that he still goes to some Man Utd away games. Some protest movement.
I just googled Fc v Rochdale and came up with several fans forums talking about the match including this one. I've only posted to put right the Argentina song. At the end of the day were all football fans and i am lucky that i can go and watch football for £8 , not pushed about by stewards , and stand and sing for 90 mins , how football shud be. I've been going MUFC since the late sixties and probably trying to replicate what it was like then, and can when i go to MUFC away games and all Fc games.
tony are those domestic or just european away games? if it's the former i'm surprised i must admit, i thought it was only across the english channel where the fcum amnesia kicked in
interesting stuff Tony D. clearly the FC/Man Utd situation is a lot more complicated than AFC/MK Dons who are two totally separate entities who presumably loathe each other.
Sounds like a lot of Man Utd fans boycott OT and go to FC instead but still follow United away and in Europe

Do the Glazers get away ticket money then? FCUM don't hate Man Utd they hate the Glazers.
The question for me is, what happens to FCUM if/when the Glazers sell up?
The bit that I don't get is how FCUM attendances have steadily fallen over the years (average attendance 05/06 was 3,059, last season it was 1,954). Surely with the amount of coverage Man Utd's finances have received over the last couple of years and the rise in Norwich scarf protests, FCUM would expect to benefit? That's before you mention that they're playing in higher leagues...
In the interests of balance, as mentioned already there's an AFC Liverpool and a Maine Road FC (set up in 1955)
If they're so against the rmapant commercialisation of football, they'd have set themeselves up years ago, when Man Utd started the whole commercialisation thing rolling. I'm afarid I have such a deeply engrained loathing of Man Utd that I can't even bring myself to like this lot because they all used to support Utd (and still do by the sounds of it).
A much more interesting tie in the FA cup is the potential match up between MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon, which will happen if they both win their replays. I would be sorely tempted to get a ticket for the AFC Wibledon end should that game come off.

But if you hate the Glaziers how can you support their team? Wherever that may be.
And how can you support two clubs? Surely a choice has to be made.
Maine Road FC were set up as a Sunday league team, called City Supporters Rusholme, which just ended up growing.
AFC Wimbledon fans are horrified by the thought of playing the Franchise- it's come too soon for them (they'd rather it happen when they're equal in the league).
At MK Scum, Pete Winkleman thinks it'll be a "fantastic tie" - which says everything you need to know about the man.
Interesting (and quite long article) about FC United by one of their own here.
Compelling stuff. Not sure where I stand on it. I understand the anti views written above.
But suppose the nightmare scenario unfolds: We are taken over by a bunch of gangsters fronted by Dennis Wise, who then sell the Valley and move us out to a re-developed Ebbsfleet.
To be fair, Manchester United didn't move when the Glazers took over. They still play at Old Trafford, so you can leave the bit about Ebbsfleet out.
If it ever did come to that, the CACT team is already there
Thanks for the article. Does he have to call them "FC"? They really do have an annoyingly generic name and nickname.
I'll leave aside all my opinions about the club and just look at their stadium plans from the point of view of a new club. Considering the capacity is nearly three times their average attendance this season (and over 60% more than their average attendance has ever been), I hope for their own sakes that they've fully thought through the build. Large grounds built on the basis of optimism rather than realism are the number 1 reason for financial trouble at football clubs, as far as I can see

Pretty sure the ref was signalling for a goal kick there. Not sure what the keeper was doing though.
