So in that case Covered End it looks like A) He wants to come us and B) we are going to pay his wages in full.

    But who is signing him?

EDIT: Question to Uncle: In your opinion, whats the likelyhood Jonjo featuring for us on loan again in the future. Especially if we get promotion this year.
  • Nothing mate Romford down the road from me spent many an underage drinking session in that "quaint" high street lol

I meant that he might not feel one of "us" first and foremost but to us he is!

To be honest mate now dalglish is in charge i wouldn't have thought so. I have a feeling he will be playing a much bigger part now but i could be wrong.

I ma sure Al wont mind me saying it

Jonjo was in text conversation with Al during the swindon game joking about ringing parky to come back for a bit on loan (not serious about it though lets get it straight)

we both told him dont ring parky he wont be here in the morning

Only joking mate he'll always feel like one of you's he learnt his trade here.

I spent a lot of my time in Romford doing that, we are all actually from Harold Hill not Romford.

This is the best news this week .I'm sure whoever comes in will be glad to have Eccleston on board .

I'm glad we are still making signings.

Maybe it was the Jonjo connections that made him think he was coming to Essex.

Quite a few fans seem to think he'll be starting against Everton so doubt we'll see Jonjo again unless its against us!

I'm suprised hes still got Parkys number....

Thanks for that Uncle. Nice to know young players don't totally lose touch with the fans. I can imagine everyone would welcome him back with open arms for a loan deal but I think the Championship would suit him a lot more to this dire league. Here's to wishful thinking..

Looking forward to seeing Ecclestone in action. Lets hope the supporters give him a chance.
  • We watched him in the u18's game at Crewe this kid is lightening quick and i mean lightening pace to burn, his touch seemed pretty good and he didnt mind shooting.

not the finished article by a long way but a real talented boy with loads to give a 3rd division team

Let's get Andy Townsend's Greek love child in from the Spuds too - then no-one would be able to catch our forwards!

now weegie that would be a coup
  • I think Lowry, Eccelstone and Andros Townsend would give us a massive boast and hugely increase our promotion chances...
if we actually get all of them is another story though I guess

We'd still have everybody's mate Simon Francis at right back, though?

    ;o)

Can you and Uncle get Jonjo to have a word with him too? Thinking they maybe played together for England youth?

Our Simon did all right on Sunday - better than poor old Matt Fry did against Townsend, anyway...

Just tongue in cheek, Weegie - hence the smiley.

Everybody's whipping boy, I know. Whenever I've seen Francis play, he's done more or less okay .... he's a Third Division player in a Third Division team, but people expect him to be a step above that.

Go for it, NLA. Your club needs you...

I'm serious about Jonjo knowing him too - from Townsend's Wiki entry:

    National team‡
    2006–2007 England U16 3 (0)
    2007–2008 England U17 6 (0)
    2009–2010 England U19 6 (0)

Know exactly what you're saying, Oggy - he's done OK when I've seen him too. Don't know what it is about right back, but some of our fans seem to have silly ideas about what you get in that position in the third division...

Scousers reckon he will be decent in League 1, one even went as far to say ''he will tear up League 1''

Agreed, I was at spurs, and thought he coped reasonably well.
back to Eccelstone :) hope he does come, sounds like he will be a treat if he does
