[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Just tongue in cheek, Weegie - hence the smiley.

Everybody's whipping boy, I know. Whenever I've seen Francis play, he's done more or less okay .... he's a Third Division player in a Third Division team, but people expect him to be a step above that.

Know exactly what you're saying, Oggy - he's done OK when I've seen him too. Don't know what it is about right back, but some of our fans seem to have silly ideas about what you get in that position in the third division...

Agreed, Weegie. IMO Francis' main weakness is not his defending, but going forward his distribution is inconsistant.

But so was Fraser Richardson's distribution last season....... and he still made the League One team of the season.
And Southampton coughed up £400,000 for him.

Francis doesn't have Richardson's European, Prem or Championship experience - so what do we really expect?
  • easy on the Si francis love in when i get the job 1st thing i will be doing is moving him on

Be interested to see if a partnership of the Shallow Grave star and Anyinsah could form a very mobile and dangerous partnership

Good signing, pleased with that one, should start the next two games alongside Joe with Benson out.

Looks like he gets stuck in ... could be a good loan deal.

On 28 January 2010, he joined Football League One side Huddersfield Town on a month's loan. He made his debut and scored his first goal for the club on 30 January, in their 1–0 victory over Yeovil Town at Huish Park. On 1 February, Liverpool announced that the loan deal had been extended until 8 May 2010. Eccleston was sent off against Gillingham for a rash tackle in the 26th minute in only his third start for the club, leading to a three match ban.

After Huddersfield lost to Millwall in the play-off semi-finals, Eccleston returned to Liverpool after making 12 appearances for The Terriers, scoring once, starting 4 times, and being sent off once.

mates who's a coach at the club told me is was nailed on last week but im very wary of putting anything up on here after the stick people get when their source gets it wrong. still, believe what he says a bit more now.

So who's decision was it to sign him in the first place?

Welcome news. The squad could do with freshening up and he's a pacy striker. Given Anyinsah's glass hamstring he should get some starts.

Not a great scoring record when on loan at Huddersfield.

    Years Team Apps† (Gls)†
    2009– Liverpool 2 (0)
    2010 → Huddersfield Town (loan) 11 (1)

However, a liverpool fan mate of mine says he really quick. And still young though so i am not knocking him, who knows he might shine for us. I hope so. Adds some freshness to the team

My Liverpool supporting mate reckons he should be in the 1st team ahead of N'gog - he knows his stuff about the game however this might just be him saying that N'gog is guff

Do we need another striker who can't strike? .. 1 goal in 11 games at Huddersfield hardly indicates a prolific scorer. We need a stronger midfield. get the ball efficiently to benson, abbot, reid etc and we'll score more

Some players don't score that much but set other players up instead.
I think he was played mainly on the wing for Hudders last season, hope we play him up front don't need anymore wingers.
