  • Giles Barnes is out of contract at West Brom, would show real intent on building a Championship side.

Benik Afobe as the physical presence SCP is looking for would be spot on.

He will be in the league above next season.

Know a fair few Hull fans he is a fairly good shot stopper but a heart in mouth keeper in terms of commanding his area and can't kick. Murphy released by Scunthorpe today looks more interesting.

I think Murphy turned down a contract because he wants to stay in the Champs.

Probably true but I suppose in all honesty nobody really knows what on earth we are capable of this summer!

I'm very disappointed at the lack of any apparent desire to post hopeful and unrealistic suggestions that players who are being sought by premiership or championship teams might come to Charlton "because their mum lives in Catford" or "they used to know the groundsman" and who would, invariably "do a job for us".

No one knows nowt yet hence this whole thread is a bit redundant innit? Why bother trying to suggest names when none of us have a scooby whether we are shopping at the footballing equivalent of Lidl's, Waitrose or Fortnum & Masons?

Would like to think Dean Cox is on our radar. Could do worse than looking at a couple of his teammates as well - Jimmy Smith, Dawson etc.

  • Liam Davis - I think he's saying goodbye to the Cobblers after four years service. He would make a good replacement for Reid.

Dean Cox has been seen pippin into Lidl's and came out with a proper shiner - helmut the size of a cooking apple apparently. Any good Bournemouth? All gone quiet on the Mirkin front?

Obviously Vetere must be doing some searching abroad. Can see us signing some unknown unheard of players from Europe this summer.
