  • Should have snapped him up years ago when he was at Plymouth. Didn't get all the fuss about Zaha the year they went up. Always thought Bolaise was the more effective player.

powell tried to sign him up but he signed for brizzle instead IIRC
Didn't Powell want Bolasie, Jason Shackell, Stephen Quinn and Sone Aluko? They're all Premier League players now having won promotion from the Championship. Makes you wonder just how much extra money Kevin Cash might have had if he hadn't pulled out when he did.

Yep. That was a huge opportunity, the feel good season of promotion with the nucleus of a good squad and the three relegated clubs, Blackburn, Bolton and Wolves all stuffed with debt and heading the wrong way. It's why Cash pulling out was so odd as the business plan simply could not have gone any better/had more fortunate circumstances.

That yr a team of Hamer, Solly, MM, Cort, Wiggins, Quinn, Stephens, Aluko, Bolasie, Yann, Fuller would have been good enough.

It could have all gone the way of Southampton. Charlton had momentum, with the some quality additions could have pushed for promtion. Allegedly, it was down to TJ dodgy business practise that KC was having none of. KC allegedly pulled the plug after. All water under the bridge now though. Glad that TJ is no where near the club anymore.
  • What dodgy stuff did Jimenez do
  • Pardew has said he will be sold but only for £40 Million what a stupid price
obviously done it to stop bids going in

    Pahaha

I remember him saying hartem Ben arfa was as good as messi.

    Blokes nuts.
  • Pardew wants to revamp his team with the money?! Well that's palace down next year then!

He can sign Simon Church for the low low price of three million pounds.

    Church for 3 Million
    Wilson for 3 Million
    Reza for 5 million
    Nego for 2 Million
    George for 3 Million
    Harriott for 4 Million

and he still has half his budget Left

Am I the only person that really didn't rate Stephens?
  • Interesting. Spurs denied having an interest in him.

The way Pardew has been talking about him, you would have thought he doesn't rate him. Am majorly concerned that Levy really doesn't have a clue. Wouldn't be surprised if this means Lamela is going back to Italy now.
  • He's big and quick but his control and final pass is not too good.

Ah. its being reported that Spurs have accepted a bid from Inter Milan for Lamela. That explains a lot.

I think Bolasie is a good fit for palace but he's not good enough for a Spurs or Liverpool

Interesting you say that. A few years ago I would have agreed with you.

Bolasie certainly isnt good enough for the Bin Dippers.

I'd say he's a good fit for Levy and Enic but maybe not Spurs. Relatively young, relatively unproven, room for improvement and most of all, a potential sell-on value.

In danger of going off a tangent here but there's something horribly wrong at Spurs at the mo. The side currently lacks any real pace and a cutting edge. Can see us finishing outside the Europa places.
  • The way things are at the moment, if I was Bolasie, I'd stay at Palace than move to Spurs.
  • Not a good move for either party Imo
  • Good move for us though, important player for Palace(according to my Palace supporting family friend) and no guarantee Pardew will spend the money gained wisely.

Fingers crossed we start seeing them tumble down the league.

Transfer fees have reached an entirely new level of ridiculousness this year. This fee, the money Palace paid for James Tomkins, Pogba to Man U, Everton's asking price for Lukaku. Can surely only be a matter of time before someone falls out of the top flight, doesn't make it back before the parachute money runs out and ends up in deep, deep trouble.

Palace completing a hattrick of adminstrations in three or four years perhaps....
  • Big Nose was saying a couple of days ago that he wants to change their style to be more ticcy tacky.

Now today I read that if they don't get Benteke they'll target Andy Carroll, hmmm just the players for ticcy tacky style.

Well there's 'ticcy tacky' and then there's Pardew's version.
  • Fingers crossed.

No club is even close to overspending though. Teams get 100m just from tv rights now, so yes the fees are stupid, but every club can afford them.
  • I remember the days when £25-30m used to buy you a world-class player. Now it buys you a winger who's scored 12 goals in 130 games - and with a poor assist return too. Madness.
